Two old duffers

Crouch and Vieira in new away and third strips.

As previously mentioned by The Shelf Patrick Vieira looks closer than ever to signing for Spurs. A great player for the gonners but now his legs are shot and is looking for one last pay day, the signing of Vieria is only ever going to be a complete disaster.

Also joining is the 1 in 3 lanky streak of yellow Crouch. Possibly going to be one of the worst signings I can remember for Spurs. I suppose when you appoint Harry Redknapp as your manager you should expect Harry Redknapp signings and Daniel Levy is too terrified to stand up to him in fear that the last roll of the dice will walk away and leave the 5 / 10 / 15 / never* year plan in tatters again.

(*delete depending on which manager we have just sacked or appointed)

Levy lost all credibility in the football world when he sacked Jol and then when he was surprised that Ramos struggled because Levy sold most of his strike force from under him and he couldn't speak the lingo. The man is also king of spin with many fans insisting that he has invested heavily in he team, ignoring all the big money deals going out of the club. Net spend is pathetically low for any team that has aspirations of challenging for the Champions League places. It is time for him to sell up - he has made many millions from Spurs using the share schemes to snap up 85% of the club without having to make an offer for every Spurs share and doing it on the cheap.

The two latest signings show how far we have fallen since we sacked our best league manager for 20 years.

Ok so he's no Linekar.Sheringham or Klinnsman but the crazy legged crane crouchy is a proven partner for defoe, and anyone who brings the best out of jermain gets my vote, lets give them a chance, ive got sneaky feeling theyll be up there as highest scoring partnership come the end of season!

a sad day when that useless lanky git signs. skinny and no strength in the air, just how many goals does he score with his head? answer very few indeed. why?

1. he cant jump,
2. he gets moved out of the way too easily, no upper body strength a la, ferdinand or andy gray or any other great header of a ball
3 not talented enough, even when he has a free header he gets little direction and no power.

his flick ons could go anywhere, and usually do, no alan gilzean this one.
i want huntelaar

your exactly why we get such a terrible reputation as being fickle. Redknapp turned us round last season, revitalising players, and taking us to a cup final, dont foregt our record over the top 4 last season, compare that to Jol or Ramos, and you'll see an improvement.
Yeah Crouch isn't a glamour signing, but he can play with defoe, and probably Robbie for that matter, I for one, feel he's very underated technically excellent player, who can be a very astute signing for us, and is proven premier league quality/ and international for that matter. Re Viera, wellwe need a back up for Palacious, and i'd expect in certain games, Wilson and Viera would play together, maybe particularly in away games.

Why even bother to write so much crap. Its supporters like you that keep thinking their opinion is better than someone that has been in the game for years. Why don't you judge a team and how a player plays at the end of the season. This article is just rubbish. Get a pair!

I wonder how many of the comments belong to someone who, like me, has renewed for two years?

Vieira and Palacious together will provide no creativity. We may not let many in but we won't score many either.

OMFG@ the poster of this.

Crouch has proven himself time and time again since leaving spurs, actually done well at every club and country! he is under-rated because he doesn't have pace or score 30+ goals. but thats not his job, thats defoes who will play off him. Whats more, since when teh fuck is crouch OLD? cock!

Question redknapp if you want to show the world that you are clueless about football. Rest of us, we just look at his track record which out weighs any stupid blog post you put on here,

WTF are you talking about. Give Arry a chance. He has proven to us that he can manage the team.. I'd trust him with rebuliding the team that Damien messed up!

We could use some experience to match our young signings. I hope we'd give DosSantos and Taarabt a chance to. We keep buying youung players and not giving them enough chance.

thing is we have no steel in away games, and i think this is where we need to improve, i could see a viera and the Sarge in away games with Luka and Lennon providing the threat from the flanks. and more attack minded at home, with the Jenas Sarge partnership. Dont think Huntelaar's dead yet either, could see Bent and Pav getting shipped out, in fact i think Bent will be gone this week.

Berk.....sooooo glad you have renewed for two years matey, does that make you better than me who only renewed for one year as I couldn't afford to renwew two season tickets for two years and still go to ALL the away games as well...prat!!. My opinion is as valid as yours so keep it zipped muppet. Crap post. Stop whining, whingeing, bleating and moaning and support the bloody team will you. Last half of the season we were t'rific (copyright H.Redknapp) even though we weren't scoring lots. We were winning (the whole point of football i will think you will find) and we were also playing well (The whole point of THFC I think you will find) so get a grip or go support someone else...like Colchester or sumthin....COYS!!!

You sir are the kind of disgraceful spurs supporter that holds us back. Always chasing that elusive foreign big name signing who either is not good enough to make it in the prem or is too good to want to join us. Get a grip with reality: we're signing an England striker at a decent price. Levy has done a great job too. Hopefully sad muppets like you will f**k off and leave the real supporters behind!

Talking to fellow spurs fans last friday at wembley about Peter Crouch threw up some interesting views. Most fans were quite pleased to have him coming to Spurs. Obviously lots wanted The Hunter but of those who didn't want Crouch wanted Negredo. When i asked them though about Negredo hardly anyone new anything about him!! Seems to me if Peter Crouch was called Pedro Crouchio then people might be a bit more enthusiastic. Crouch and Defoe WORKED at portsmouth. I am glad we have signed him. For me he is better than Bent and we make money. Win win! COYS

I have mixed feelings about this. Crouch has not done that badly for the teams he has played for, but watchim=ng him is not a pretty site. He always reminded me of the back end of a pantomime horse, being fitted with a pair of football boots. We now have five international strikers, and Harry is still after Huntelar.. That means that at least two will be leaving, probably Bent and Pav. I think the former deserves hois chance at a club that will appreciate him, and the latter deserves a good run out before we let him go.

Levy can't be faulted. What a joke. With mugs like you we are stuck with a chairman who sells the best players and refuses to invest. Sucked in by the Spurs PR machine.

I don't blame Levy for Juande sacking i blame the players. They refused to adapt to the Ramos regime and basically got Ramos the sack. The chairman made the wrong choice bringing in Arry he is just a mid table manager you can just see by the quality of players that we have been linked with.

good post, forget your heart and listen to your head. With levys team of vampires in place we will never truly win or stand for nothing. We have become a group of suporters who would rather see other teams lose than win ourselves. It's time that we demand a major trophy this year or levy does the honerable thing for once and admits he knows nothing about football and goes back to his old job as a tax man.. Ps all about moving to wembly, what a stadium! knock down White hart lane and build a giant toilet in it's place so we can flush all the shit we've had over the years away and build a new future that our children can be proud of for a change
