Ta Ta Ghaly.

And thank goodness. The over rated Egyptian has been sold to Birmingham assuming he gets a work permit. Fingers crossed.

Ghaly was never of the required standard to be at Spurs but will do a job for Birmingham. To his credit he was always willing to give his best including the time he had his teeth knocked out at Portsmouth. However he believed some of his own hype and clearly thought he was better than he was. I won't be sorry not to see three or four step overs before a defender would take the ball of him or another misplaced pass to the opposition ever again. I also won't be at all sorry to see his disgraceful shirt throwing antics again either. He should have been banished to the youth team for training and slapped straight on the transfer market for that behavior.

So, one useless Egyptian gone, hopefully another over rated, hairy, kebab loving one to follow.

Oh, according to FTL and COYS, expect Boetang by the end of the week.

COYS!

Good riddance!!! to very bad and overrated rubbish. £3 million is about £2.9999 million over the odds. Roll on his "mate" signing as well. Never diss the shirt or the fans who wear the shirt and pay your wages...i hope somebody has shut the door behind him and if not, i will do it

Lets hope we sign that Swedish midfielder then. I'm sure we'll sign at least one now Ghaly has gone. He was always a good squad player but i think Jol will sign someone better that will improve the midfield.

i think that brum are getting a very good player who we didnt see the best of because the fans got at him very early on and i think we made a bit of a profit so good luck too him and im sure when we go to there place in the league we may see the sort of player he could have been for us

well said sir, thank the almighty that this worthless pile of puppy poo has finally gone. I agree he will do a job for the brum not too sure what kind of job he will do but in any case Ghaly you tried son but here's a little tip for your new employees, try not to throw your shirt at the dug out if you get subbed cos your playing like absolute shite! Oh and can you please convince Mido to join you so we can blag £6 Million for better players!

we didn't see the best of him cos he is shite, not because the fans got on his back. The fans get on JJ's back (unreasonably in my opinion)but he doesn't hide and put in shite performances. As for seeing what a "good" player he is, i will reserve my judgement as he probably will have a mysterious toe nail injury so that he doesn't play. PS i dont normally slag off anyone in a Spurs shirt, but this "guy" is/was/will be rubbish...but then hey, it's a game of opinions and he will probably go on to win footballer of the year or something...but i won't be holding my breath or parting with cash on that!!

If Ghaly is overrated, that guy Boateng must be ultra overrated. Come on, Boateng has only got 3 assists and 2 goals in a shyte German league and you expect him to do well in EPL ? We will regret letting Ghaly leave.

Think you are all an absolute disgrace to put Mido in the same Bracket as Ghaly.
When we almost made the Champs league 2 years ago Mido was top scorer and outstanding. Committed, Strong and put the ball away and bagged us vital points, remember the point he salvaged with a bullet header at the Riverside to make it 3-3? And what about the 3 vital points at the Lane in 1-0 win against West Ham?
So OK, he didn't have a great year last year but then again who would have when they have Keane, Berba and Defoe in front of them?

With the form Keane and Berba were in Henry would have struggled to get a game at our place.

So please lets stop the Kebab, fat, hairy, useless comments and actually show some appreciation for what the player has done for us.

Youre right, i wont put Mido in the same bracket as Ghaly. He is nowhere near as good as Ghaly, well spotted. I see you have given us all the highlights of Mido's glittering career at Spurs. You forgot however the lazy attitudes, the cumbersome running, the "well if i am sub i will come out at least ten minutes after the warm up has started and sort of join in" that i see every week from him (if not "injured" that is). So please do not put him on a pedestal that makes him a world class striker. PS you forgot his debut goals against Pompey and the two "stunners" against Port Vale in the CC cup.

Ghaly will do well enough for Birmingham, and so will Mido if he gets his act together and signs for them. It's great for Spurs too because the money is right and they are both players that doesn't have the quality we need to push for top four. Källström should be regarded a definite purchase, unsure about Boateng, but he's young and has a fair bit of experience in a decent league. No matter what: We need reinforcements in midfield to turn the top four dream into reality.

On Ghaly, think we have done very well to get 3 million back for him, although don't believe all that fee is up front for a player who reportedly cost us 1 million and did not look any better than that imo, so would have been happy just to get our money back to be honest. If this is the case is a great deal for the club and time we bought in a top class midfielder who can dominate the centre of the park.

With out insulting the fella, think it's time Mido moved on too, especially as he'll never get a game with our other fantastic four forwards in front of him.

Ghaly is now not up to the job but has done some good work at times. He sealed his fate with the shirt throwing incident but would have gone anyway as Spurs continue to improve the squad. I hold no malice and wish him good luck apart from when he plays against us.
Again we made a profit on a player so not so bad business again.
Mido may well be next as he will soon realise he will not even get on the bench and demanding top wages will simply not be realistic

You conveniently forget the other goals he scored. I did not put him on a Pedestal or claim he was world class. I simply pointed out that he should not be lumped in with someone you throws the shirt to the ground.
61 Apps (20 as sub) and 19 goals scored is not bad for a player who has never been first choice.

All I'm saying is don't slag off players who helped get us back into Europe and enabled us to better ourselves.

Yes we now have 4 quality players and Mido is surplus to requirements.

But to slag him off is short sighted and fickle. Bet you celebrated when he scored for us though didn't you.?

You are reason Spurs fans have the rep that we do.........muppet.

'Bandwagon' comse to mind when I think of Mido, and Ghaly what's all the needless criticism and hate about, it's pathetic. Perhaps good Ghaly's left, as long as he's replaced with an improvement, both Ghaly and Mido are decent players and if they both go, good luck to them...any other comments are completely unnecessary.

Ghaly was massively overated and Mido massively over ate. Both may think they are superstars back home but were never going to cut the mustard at the lane. both had temperate problems and were liabilities and eventually would have eroded team spirit.

If we can turf out some more of the dead wood such as Murphy, Gardner, Ping Pong and build up the cash pile to spend on a much needed left footed winger/wide player and a little more quality cover in the centre of midfield i think we will have the semblance of a very strong squad.

COYS !!!!

I for one am glad that Ghaly has gone, but reading some of these comments you would think he was on a par with Rasiak and Tramazani as one of Spurs’ worst ever signings. The fact is, he had undoubted skill and a few glimmers of magic (that goal against Chelsea as well as a fair few unnoticed assists) which was unfortunately cancelled out by some erratic passing and THAT incident with the shirt (to be fair, he came on as a sub and was then subbed himself – the ultimate diss in football. But that’s still no excuse). I’ve no doubt that in time and with a decent run he would have been a reliable squad player for us, but unfortunately for him that was never going to happen with better players ahead of him and with Spurs looking to break the top 4. This is a good deal for both clubs – Spurs recoup the outlay and at Birmingham he’ll be one of their best players (probably not hard I know). So let’s wish him well, as the one thing you can’t argue is that he ran his socks off, though more often than not in the headless chicken sense and not with purpose like Jenas does when he covers every blade of grass (also without thanks it would seem). I’ll always remember him for the teeth incident alone, and for not being a prima dona about taking a necessary step down to Birmingham, unlike his compatriot Mido. Mido could learn a thing or two about Ghaly. And Anon 3:41, I half agree with you but you that Mido proved useful for one season, but rather than take stock of his career and continue in that vein of form, he chose to join the likes of Collymore in choosing to waste his talent and consider himself bigger than the club, as he did with all other clubs before us and as is evident with his body language whenever he comes on the pitch now. A better man would fight for his place a la Keane, not sulk and moan to the Egyptian Press every 2 minutes. That is why people get on his back with the pie comments, albeit childishly. I personally would take 4.5 million for Mido and let Birmingham use the remainder to sort out any personal clauses he wants in that contract. Anyway, Ghaly my son, or Boutros Boutros as we used to call you in The Shelf, I wish you well. Mido, take the contract, you will not get a better one and will just waste away at Spurs (not in terms of weight though obviously).

I completely agree. We all loved Mido 1st season and when he came back to us he was voted by our supporters with an overwhelming majority of 72% the best signing of the summer nd tht poll included the likes of Berbatov and Chimbonda. When he signed he was lean and fit and eager 2 play, he wasn't gd enuf 2 force his way into our starting line up nd lost motivation, gained weight and looked awful (especially when he came on at Chelsea) I do think he has a poor attitude but he is not by any means useless and he did do a very very gd job 4 us on his loan spell at the club. I can easily argue tht without Mido we wouldn't have qualified 4 UEFA. How likely do u think it is we'd have signed Berbatov if we didnt have UEFA football? Mido did a great job 4 us nd is clearly a premiership quality striker.

I don't think Ghaly was that bad a player, he did ok at Spurs no worse than some of the other fringe midfielders we have at the club. I admit the shirt throwing incident was silly, but nowhere as bad as people are now making out. He will do very well at Brum. Mido was also one of our best strikers in his first year, he just ate too many pies and was never gooing to get in the team before Berbatov as the big man in our big man/little man forward line. If he plays every week he will maintain his fitness and be a very good striker. I think the hairy kebab comments were out of order to be honest, there have been a lot worse players at the Lane.

I actually didn't mind Ghaly as he got stuck in when it was required and always gave the effort. Not good enough for a top four team, so he goes and I wish him well. Mido played his part in our progression but he is also not a top four player. He unsettles defenders and can head the ball well but Bent and Berbatov can both do that and both bring more to the field. In games where Berbatov came off and Mido came on we always looked under pressure because Mido would head the ball on to the keeper or couldn't hold on to the ball. Would like a hard tackling midfielder to replace him though so lets see what Boateng is like.

Most of the comments on here are as annoying as the idiot who sat behind me for the Spurs-Boro game last season singing abusive songs at Paul Robinson. Regardless of whether or not you think a player is good enough for Spurs, you'll get more out of a player by supporting than abusing him. And now he's gone, what's the point of making unpleasant comments? Totally agree with the defence of Mido - this time last year most people wanted Spurs to sign him permanently, and he still showed touches of class last season such as the equaliser at Arsenal, but is one of those players who is not going to do consistently well playing 1 game in 4 or 5 or getting the odd 10 minutes. Granted we don't need five top strikers at the club but I don't relish coming up against him elsewhere if he leaves.

Erm, Mido was NEVER top scorer.

Correct me if i'm wrong but R.Keane scored 16 goals in 2005/06, Fatboy got 11 ?!!

Yes he did play ok 2005/06, but he was guaranteed a start as BMJ doesnt like to play Defoe & Keane together. He was also playing for a contract (and his career).

Last year though, when he should have shown us what he is made of, he was embarrasing. He was out of shape, lazy, tempremantal and disturbing for others.

HE IS A DISGRACE.

You don't see Defoe piling on the pounds down the High Road 'all you can eat for £5' Kebab shop when he doesn't get picked or throwing tantrums.

You only have to see the way he acted playing for HIS COUNTRY to see his true colours.

Somehow HE thinks he's GOD, well he's NOT, he's a bad apple who should be shot off soon as.......or just shot.

When Andy Reid left i bet he was over the moon, knowing he'd get his hands on all his pies the fat git!

Hopefully Ghaly will be re-united with his girlfriend at St.Andrews and it will be Goodbye Fatboy & GOOD RIDDANCE

I know this is off the Ghaly topics, but does anyone know how long Aaron Lennon is injured for? I am so looking forward to the season and think we have a team that can do very well ( I don;t want to jinx anything by predicting though ). I saw an unofficial report saying Lennon will miss the first two months of the season. I hope he isn't out that long. I know he went a bit down hill at the end of last season but when on song, he gives us just that bit of extra flair in midfield. Hopefully he wont be out too long and if he can improve on his crossing a bit then he will be awesome this season I'm sure.

Did anyone have problems with booking online for the gooner match? I did everything and it got to the processing stage of my order then the site went all funny and said I had no tickets purchased and then got stuck to the back of a long queue! I was so annoyed. Is sold out now :(

The new ticket system is an absolute fucking disgrace

I was logged in and ready to go 9:25am, at 9:31am it froze, i managed to select the match about 10 mins later, hit the gold sections (available) 20 mins later got to how many tickets do you want, and tried for 2 tickets, EVERY block i went to said 'no tickets available, try for less' or some shyte like that. I then decided to just try and buy ONE, same FUCKING MESSAGE, wasted another half an hour doing this, going into EVERY block, whilst one by one they were turning red (sold out) and then i thought i'd try for SIX.........BINGO, so now i have 6 tickets (altogether) ...what the fuck!! So next i had to 'remove' the 4 unwanted tickets, but this just seemed to fuck things up and also my PC, finally get down to 2 after another 30 mins pressing the remove button, then tried to assign my wifes members' number for the other ticket and wallop, i'm kicked out and told i'm back of the queue (A QUEUE WHICH DIDNT MOVE), I almost smashed my computer to bits!

So ..... 1h.30mins fucking about and after all that i'm then finally told it's sold out, NO TICKETS

WHAT A COMPLETE CUNT

They can go fuck themselves

I know the previous system could be slow, esp for popular matches but you could always get a seat somewhere in the stadium

This one is absolute dog-shit

And you cant even choose were you sit

WANKERS

And i almost got fired for my outburst at work

Anyone who has season ticket that doesnt want to go and would sell email me on paxton75@hotmail.co.uk

Happy Days!!!!!!!!!

THats bull, all those comments about ghaly. Yeah he made a huge mistake by throwing away the shirt, and for that i lost interest in him.
But in every game he played for us he gave it his all, he got stuck in, battled for everything and ran his socks off.
Jenas on the other hand wasted all our free kicks, all our corners and distrupted our flowing passing move, with a terrible pass or giving away possession.
The guy was peeved, he saw someone like jenas who in my opinion was shite again last season (thought he was a v good player for newcastle)playing time and time again even though ghaly was out performing him when he was on the pitch.
If i was him i would be upset, i really hope this season jol doesnt pick jenas everytime he is available, if we are serious about challenging for honours there should be no favouritism and players should be choosen on performances and merit.

I agree putting mido and ghastly in the same bracket is unfair. The reason ghaly is going is because of his outburst with the whole shirt throwing thing. Then he turns round and says hes putting in a transfer request because he wants to play for a bigger club . WHERE ARE YOU NOW GHALY? HAHAHA @ U . At the end of the day, he was an ok player, nothing special, and wont be missed as a player. I feel sorry for mido, because remember when he signed for us permanently he must have thought he would get played regularly based on his previous season. Then we buy berbs and the rest is history. Its no wonder he comes across as lethargic, he doesnt exactly have a lot to feel happy about, especially considering he played a massive part in us getting into europe only to see berba take the starting place in the europe games he helped us qualify for.I still think that as a finisher, mido has a lot to offer, its just a shame for him weve got 4 class strikers ahead of him now. So mido, good luck mate. Ghaly go f**k yourself

All Spurs fans have every right to be angry about Ghaly's disrespect to the Spurs shirt. But I disagree with those who call him a crap player. I'm sorry it didn't work out for him. As for Mido, is there perhaps to be another twist in his Spurs odyssey? Is it possible that he will realise he must grow up and become the great player he definitely can be? As Steve Bruce said before that deal went off, he's got a little bit of everything. Its up to you, Mido M'lad.

I agree with a previous comment that we Spurs give ourselves a bad name being called fickle because it is warranted. Yes Ghaly made an error in judgement by throwing his shirt, something that I definitely dont condone, but in my opionion it was in the heat of the moment. I dont see anyone slagging Keane off and calling him names when he was substituted some seasons ago and kicked the water bottle at Jol. Okay, Ghaly mau not have been the best, but I still think that we didnt see the best of him, and in my opinion he when playing, he gave his all (even if mistakes were made), something that I know a few of the current players dont do. I am going to be controversial and say, had Ghaly been a Brit or Irish, we wouldnt be having this discussion. Double standards anyone?
