Jol needs to stay.

I have read the posts on here for months, especially the ones from PARK LEN WHO HAS BEEN SHOUTING JOL OUT! for some months now. And a few wind up scum fans who come on here agree with him but sacking Jol now or at the end of the season would be a mistake.

We know that this season has not gone quite to plan although today's game at Sheffield United was our 40th match, the same amount of games we played all of last season. But this run of 8 games since Christmas is Jol's first real poor run since he has been the boss. Yes, we have given up leads in the last minute and the football has sometimes been dull but the results had always been going geneally in our direction.

We must also look at what Jol has so far done for the club. A top five finish, European football via the league, around the sixth best Spurs manager ever based on points per game, semi final of the Carling Cup and unbeaten in Europe with a last 16 game to look forward to. These things show Jol has the ability to win matches and win them well. This things should mean that Jol has at least another season to get it right.

In the past we have always been too quick to sack managers and has led to us under achieveing as a club for years. The record shows that the most succssful clubs in England are the clubs with the managers who stick around and are given time. Bolton could easily have sacked Fat Sam when they skirted with relegation for a few years and now they are looking at a European place. Wet Spam were too quick in sacking Roder and saw them relegated and do not seem to have learnt their lesson when they sacked Pardew earlier int he season. Charlton look like they will rue the day Dowie was shown the door and who can remember the embarrasing 8 month wait for a manger when we parted company with Hoddle? No, knee jerk reactions are not the answer.

Jol needs further time to continue building. Injuries to key players such as Berbatov, King, Jenas and the poor form of Robinson have not helped either but a brand new broom will mean another revolution has to start and be given further time to bed in their ideas. I know the Director of Football thing is supposed to circumnavigate these problems but I just don't see it like that, especially when we have Comolli buying people Jol does not want and making fantastic comments at the AGM along the lines of "We are all obsessed with a left winger" and he feels we don't need one!

The football of late has been piss poor and needs to turn around but Jol deserves the time to do this. Sacking him now will take us back at least two years.

COYS!

As pissed off as i am about are shit performances recently, we have to stick with BMJ because it's the players who need a kick up the ass. I do hope that we win a cup this season cause if we dont then the season is a faliure.

Yes Jol does need to stay. when king comes back things will get better. when he come back before we went on an unbeaten run and were up in seventh and looked likely to win the carling and uefa cup. replacing jol would not change the fact that spurs need ledley to be spurs.

i'm sorry but you're being way too understanding on Jol. He has tried his best and brought in some talented players, but he's basically clueless as to where to go from here. Last year there were many games when we got battered e.g.Bolton and Blackburn at home, and our midfield (including Michael Carrick)were basically non-existent, but someone like Keane or Lennon came up with some magic and we got away with it. This year is the same dross but usually without the magic. Jol has had two seasons to mould a midfield, and most of the time they play like they've never met before. He doesn't look like he has any idea how to make them play, so he should let someone else get on with the job.

I reckon the squad is ready made for Hoddle-style management. Kick Jol out and bring the 'Man' back. He feels the shirt and would surely make some great players that we have feel it too. Reading up what Jimmy Duggan says sums it all up. Jol is Dull, much like most Dutchmen. Too dull for us and our expectations.

Wrong. Ask Arsene Wenger who inherited a good squad. Ask Jose Mourinho who inherited an even better squad. Just look at how Man Utd and Arsenal went downhill during the period between their good players leaving/retiring and buying some replacements for them.

As for Jol, his failures this season are many:

Losing to Everton at home when they were reduced to 10 men.
Not beating Fulham at home
Not beating Fulham away when they were down to 10 men.
Taking the lead against Reading and then surrendering.
Losing to Liverpool at Anfield because we had dozens of chances and failed to take them while Liverpool had 2 or 3 chances and took them.
As above, but at White Hart Lane.
As above, but against Newcastle.
Needing extra time to beat Southend at WHL.
Taking 80 minutes to score against Port Vale at WHL, and again needing extra time to win.
Playing negatively against Arsenal at the Emirates in the league.
Taking a 2-0 lead against most of Arsenal's first team (except Lehmann and Henry) at WHL and then surrendering it with said negative play.
Playing negatively against Arsenal at the Emirates in the Cup even though we needed to score to win.
The surrender to Man Utd at WHL. Losing to them isn't a disgrace, losing 4-0 is.
Taking the lead against Sheffield United and surrendering anyway
Not making substitutions until it is too late
Making bad substitutions (like wanting to bring on Lee against Arsenal instead of Huddlestone or Mido)

Don't want Jol to go, as someone says he deserves time. Think we need 1 or 2 players with a bit of authority and it will kick start the very good but painfully quiet squad that we have. If he ever was to leave would like to see Venables come in to finish off the job he had in th 90's, with our cuurent managerial set up ie Comolli, cant see this happening though. And true, something in my heart would love to see Hoddle back, still have a feeling that he might get another crack at the job at some point. For the meantime though im behind Jol 100%. FA Cup or UEFA Cup might be a saving grace.COYS

as for your comments - patience wearing very thin with jol, sadly. as someone else said, we have a very good squad, but jol just cant seem to get them to perform. is this the managers or players fault? answers on a postcard please.

I am convinced we have the squad. I am also convinced THFC is run wholly as a business. If a director can't get the best out of his/her 'team' in any business, you change them. You install someone who can. If not, you go down the hole. Well, our hole is gaping. New 'director' needed. Bring back Ghod.

Exactly, Wenger inherited a winning formula.

And that's the difference buddy.

I feel he deserves some more time, although it is true he seems dull and not the sort of manager who inspires or motivates.. even before key matches he has a tendency to sound negative in the press.. and this negativity and lack of motivation seems evident in performances.. like 3-nil loss at emirates.
This season is over in terms of league. The only thing we can hope for is finishing in the top ten and winning one of the cups to get into europe

I'm a little worried at the moment about our league position. I know we are quite afew points ahead of the relagation zone, but all it takes is 3 or 4 in a row and then suddenly you are in a bit of trouble. We have Everton away, Bolton at home, and West Ham away in our next 3 league games. Non of these are easy and the way we are playing I can't see us picking much up from those 3. And if that is the case, we might be looking nervously over our shoulder after these games. I hope i'm wrong. We just need to get back to basics, Start defending like we did last season. No clean sheet since October. That is one of our biggest problems. Robinson is not at his best and without Ledley our defence certainly aint at their best either. And the midfield is probably our biggest problem this season. It keeps being chopped and changed and I don't even think Jol knows what our best midfield is. Without Lennon, we lack real flair.
I like Martin Jol and think he has done a good job for us in his time so far, but I am having my doubts about his managing skills at the moment. Hopefully he will turn it round. COYS!

Your arguement is floored too, replacing jol for someone else would be better,it would not. Who ever took his place would still have a simular budget and the same problems attracting top quality players to the club, and also he /she would have to start from scratch again . Its far better to have a little faith and be realistic , confidence is a fragile thing a true fan should exercise a little restraint some mud sticks, and the press just read our blogs for ammo!! You fickle bunch of short-sighted moaning knee-jerk reactionists!!! A few weeks ago Martin Jol was a hero. The last few weeks since xmas have been his ONLY bad patch since taking over and you're turning against him. Here we go again, blame the manager. You sad lot. Bill Nicholson took Spurs to 18th in the League in his first season. Keith Burkinshaw took us to relegation. Both could so easily have been sacked and gone down in history as our two worst managers. Instead, the Board sensibly supported them and they went on to be our two most successful managers. I have no doubt that Jol will get us winning again and will go on to be a success.

Best article I've read on here for some time. Good writing Shelf.

I tend to take the view that as with 'letters to the editor' in newspapers, it's people with complaints who are most likely to write in so I think the percentage of posts here calling for Jol's head is misleading. I also question Jol's ability but sacking him as a result of his first really bad spell, after a 5th place finish in his first full season would be rather stupid. As for the Hod comments!!? If that's an example of your best alternative to Jol then i'm very glad Levy's in charge and none of you spanners.

We are still 3 good players away from a serious, balanced and strong team (L wing, creative mfield & L back) and our recent injuries have badly knocked our stability and confidence.

Good support helps at a time like this. Hysterically calling for the managers head does not.

The team formation needs review. The defence is frequently played. Playing the off side trap frequently lays bare the defence to attacks by opportunist minded attackers like how Henry, Bellamy and Saha/Rooney kind players. The defence must be taught, trained and moulded into a solid defence without gaping holes occuring very often. The team as a whole is very unstable. The forward line is frequently lacks the penerating ability even against lesser graded teams. They struggle and fumble. All this points towards the weakness of the team. Many need to go. Abd replaced with solid players.

I reckon you make some good points Francis. In my view; Malbranque, Zokora, Jenas & Huddlestone are not good enough together but with a tough, creative leader in the middle, they would rise to the occasion and grow in confidence.

Rocha looks bedazzled by the pace of the premiership but we'll only know if he cuts it sometime next season. The general lack of confidence and current injuries can't be helping him to settle either.

Go on the Spurs!

I don’t advocate chopping and changing managers as soon as the going gets tough, but the question mark over BMJ has appeared, and he needs to show us hs mettle under pressure. This season for me is a tale of disappointment and I am much disillusioned. Cashing in on Carrick was a huge mistake and we now lack any linkage from defence to attack. Zokora lacks perception and Huddlestone, who can distribute the ball, is too one-paced - slow. Defoe is having terrible season. Keane is clever but lacks defensive edge and is really not a natural goal scorer. So Berbatov, a potential great, is on his own at the cutting edge.

The right side with Lennon and Chimbonda is good but we have no defence or attack on the left, so the side is totally asymmetric. Worse, without King we have no one who seems to be able to anticipate or defend crosses from the opposition. Other teams have realised this and attack us from our left flank and tear us apart – there is no shortage of right-sided class in the Premiership.

So I do not see us winning anything until we sort out the left side and get King back fit supporting the admirable Dawson as he continues to improve. Frankly we are three players short of a team – in old parlance a left back, left half and left wing.

This calls into question Jol for me. He doesn’t seem to be able to think out of the box and generally stays with the same tactics throughout (OK - excepting the desperation gamble at Sheffield yesterday). As a stopgap I would persist with Malbranque up front on the left with Ghaly, Zeigler or Tainio behind him, and be tempted to drop both Keane and Defoe. The present set up is just not working, and Jol doesn’t seem to be able to cope with that.

cliff t

we didn't cash-in on Carrick. He wanted to play for man u rather than Spurs. No club worth their salt keeps players with that view. Given that we pretty had to sell him, Levy performed a brilliant bit of tactical business by taking more than his worth from the deal.

I bet Hoddle would come back for no wages to prove he can do the Job.

Last time he had to much to contend with "Pleat" and all George Grahams men ( Sherwood, Perry, Thatcher,Rebrov, that disrupted the team. Jol keeps rattling on about our players showing fight! But he just stands there with arms folded doing nothing. Wenger shows spirit on the touchline makes changes and gets results. Jol is not up to it, cut our losses

It isn't what he has done, it's what he is doing.
We're supposed to be improving on performances ie moving upwards and onwards not aspiring to mediocrity like we have been for the last 10 years at least.
Looking back, it's astounding that last season having done so well, Jol was incapable of lifting the team to beat the likes of Sunderland etc ultimately costing us a Champions League place and the games we did win although definitely promising, were never entirely convincing.
The writing was on the wall well before the "poisoned" West Ham game.

We then caved in to Carrick's and Man U's demands sending out an "also ran" message before the season even started.

As for our present cup runs, is anybody truly convnced that we're going to win anything this season when up against decent opposition - like Sheffield United.
He's been here long enough to know that you can't be 2-0 up against Arsenal at home then blow it and then expect to be around that much longer unless you seriously bounce back with conviction.

Berbatov, Lennon, Chimbonda, Dawson, King, Robinson are the kind of players to build around.
Huddlestone and Zokora have a lot of convincing to do.
Generally, Defoe, Keane and Mido have looked so clueless up front being either permanently off-side or lacking the guile, touch and selflessness to often play in the one truly world class player who possesses these qualities, Berbatov, who admittedly needs to up his away performances.
Yet Jol and many others are convinced they can take us up to the next level.

It's all very well saying give Jol time be it 3, 4 or 5 years team but fans are sick of waiting to see a Spurs side with the philosophy and beliefs of a manager needs to win and who hates to lose, displayed on the pitch.
That surely doesn't take 3 seasons to project and whose to say that the best of the bunch such as Berbatov, Lennon and Dawson are going to want to stick around because Jol might be turn out to be "the man" not this season but perhaps the next.

I'm also fed up of Bmj saying we wernt strong enough. The team is at its strongest, its ever been for many a year, If the team seems weak, then Bmj has only himself to blame, for not motivating them. He hasn't enheireted players, he has brought them.
However, I thought last year was a bit of a fluke, but I still feel Bmj needs to stay till the end of the season, to see if, in the time he has left, if he has the backbone to sort this out.

Jol must stay but Commoli must go. He has been a complete disaster after Arnesan laid the foundations what he has done. The icing on the cake is Rocha. Gifts the scum the winner, loves up his cheating mate just after he has cheated his team into the lead, reveals that he has only came to secure his pension and yesterday showed that he is worse than Vega. This is Commoli's doing -swapping maturing Davenport (who passes the ball better than Daws and will always score more goals) for this greedy pile of crap. Commoli must go and Hughton as well.

Irrespective of whether Jol goes or not please ensure that you get Commolli's role right. Commolli has overall responsibility for the medical, academy, scouting and club secretarial departments. He has NO control whatsoever over the players in the 1st team squad. Jol has TOTAL control of who comes into the 1st team and it is Jol that supplies Levy with TWO lists of SPECIFIC players for the 1st team that HE wants. Blaming somebody else for buying players for the 1st team, other than Jol, is totally wrong. And Jol does NOT report to Commolli - let us all get behind the club and support the club but let us all know how the club works too.

Also, there's no point mindlessly calling for a change ( à la Park Len - you twat ! )unless you've got some clear idea of who you intend to bring in.Anyone calling for Hoddle back have either just had a lobotomy, are in need of one or are Arse supporters on the piss). Ditto press reports linking us with journymen playeRs like Beattie etc. who are no better than the ones we've got.I suggest that anyone who think's 'so & so out' simply rephrase this as ' let's get so & so in' which I'm sure would lead to a more constructive discussion.

Jols record speaks for itself ...hes been the best spurs manager in years..look at the facts..open your eyes!! every manager has a bad period....Jol WILL turn the corner!!

The only thing that makes me sad at the moment is not that we're going through a very dodgy spell but the the total idiots on these sites who are letting the club down and living up to the fickle tag!!!....

Never mind, we are still in 2 cups until next Saturday, and even then we will still be in at least 1 cup after that match, and then we may lose in the final of the EUFA cup and just about avoid relegation and then Holland will recruit Jol as their new National Manager.
That's what happened to Middlesborough last year so it must happem to us this year, right? Well, it's the same argument that the Jol crowd are using fo Jol to stay....Nicholson did this but we stuck by him and look....Burkinshaw got us relegated but then look what happened.....Fergie nearly got sacked but then.....
It's like reading the horoscopes in the News of the World.
The facts are that the team has been in decline for over a year, and anyone who doubts that can look up the results...we are getting worse and worse and something has to change. We cannot change the players, so either Jol has to demonstrate that he can change (no sign so far in this clueless season) or we have to change him.

Why are some of you short memoried knee-jerkers calling for Hoddle? He lost the dressing room by alienating all of his senior players, moaned about his bad luck with injuries, he was tactically inept (remember the 0-4 vs.Blckbn, 1-5 vs, Midd, 0-4 vs Soton?) and out of his last 24 PL games we won 6, drew 4 and lost 14 - relegation form. I am not a 'sack Jol' merchant but the sad thing is over the past 6 weeks we have seen the worrying sight of the same sort of tactical mistakes, poor results and excuses. I think Jol / Hughton might be Hoddle/Gorman in disguise - but Jol the time to change is when the season is finished, not now.

Supporting the club for 46 years is NOT fickle - spending as much money, on the club, to buy a house is NOT fickle, supporting the Club until my dying day is NOT fickle.......However, a manager that has not put a penny into the club and has taken out hundreds of thousands of pounds for no return and has stated that he is off back to Holland in June 2009 regardless of how he leaves the club IS fickle!!!! Determine what the word fickle means and then show me ANY Spurs fan that does not care or love the club. Come on Jol tell us all why you spend so much time in Holland on your so called "scouting missions" - surely it cannot be because you are setting up the business that you have said you will start in 2009 which will be away from football? After all the matches you have seen in Holland (at the club's expense)what do we have to show for it? Ghally? Fans that do NOT care for the club ARE fickle - fans that care for the club are TRUE fans - Jol is out for himself and NOT the club therefore he IS fickle.

Jol out. No doubt. He just hasn't got it. Same coz he's great character. But its points we need. But I'm not going to jump on the hod band wagon, not because i don't love him, but we'd be setting ourselves up for more embarrasment. imagine if he fucked up like he did last time?! it's not like
he's improved since leaving. Look at the terrible job he did with Wolves. dull draw after draw. Now they're playin well under Mick?! So i am going to divert my attention to the one. the only. Jurgen. Passion! Class! Yid!

Jol is an imposter , a total con man that always blames everything but himself ,is tactically poor and it wouldnt surprise me if he has dis ilussioned a few of our players with his constant critism (we need to be tougher, were not strong enough etc) when most times its his negativity, before, during, and after games. Hoddle clearly is a ridiculas idea he was crap last time ,is an ego maniac and hasnt suddenly changed his ways. my choice would be big sam at bolton , its rubbish that he just plays long ball all the time , he just gets the best out of the players he has, he wouldnt stand for the gutless, spineless performances , would stand up against the other managers ,refs decisions and not arse lick everyone and would imo be available if jol went, he would install metal and passion into the team in his own image( unlike just talk the talk jol!) and he knows how to beat the goons. so in closing big sam for spurs he would get the best out of, and not be fucked about by, our pre madonna players.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Being the best in a decade is not really an indictment of Jol being any good as the likes of Gross, Francis, Graham or Hoddle hardly put us back to where we aspire to so he did not have much to beat - did he? - Jol is not up to the task of making us a top 4 club period - that does not make him a bad manager - it means that he is not the right man for the club.

God it's sad, Spurs fans with no faith or patience that other clubs are willing to show.
What is the most successfull team in the Premiership to date?
Man U.
Who have the longest running Manager?
Man U
Who almost sacked their manager due to poor results and achievements?
Man U

Just give him the time the team is unbalanced and under performing in my opinion, and yes it is the managers responsibilty to get them going but confidence is the key and we seem to have lost it but it will come back.
And the comments about Hoddle, man what has he ever achieved as a manager? nothing of note. he destroyrd the team confidence with his poor man management skills.
BMJ needs the time and fans who support him and the team, take last season was it fluke or was it the team starting to gel? or was it the fact we were in none of the cups and were eentirely focused on the league?
we lost a key player and have bought in players some not my choice but good players no doubt, the foreigners need time to adapt to the english game and i think it takes a couple of seasons if your lucky.
Lets just support them even though it is frustrating at the min i'm sure we will survive, and yes we wont make the top 6 but i think that tis the price you pay for cup runs without enough quality cover
and i think there are only 2 teams with enough quality to actually field a second string capable of challenging for the CL, the Scum and Chelski. even Man U can't manage that.

SO COME ON SUPPORT THE SPURS.

This week is essencial. Next Sunday is FACUP away with Fulham.
Yesterday even Berby looked lost. What the hell is a manager for?
Stop the excuses, managers and coaches: they have time for meetings and training this week.
Urgent is the midfield non existence and the lack of leadership. Keane got one yellow yesterday and didn't help on avoiding the other four. Not good enough. We cannot keep on waiting for King as he's only due in April.
Remember one week from now it could all be over and then it's just a question of time to happen the same in the UEFA CUP.
And in the Summer I'm afraid our star will be gone, because no one man makes a team: when the team is progressing the players get better and the stars shine; when the teams suck the players lose heart and fail and the stars dim(pun intended).I don't want to lose our bright star Dimmitar, neither do I want to be humilliated like this every week and keep pretending I'm part of a great club.
To dare is to do.
Do or die, Jol!

Jol has been tactically inept this season.. and has made some mistakes... i mean, No formula has been kept... he's spent all season mixing things up and the team hasn't gelled. He needs a good dose of b*llocks if you ask me, leave out zokora, and allow one of the CM's to make forward runs, we rely on wide areas to be where we create and only have one winger (of quality), why let davids go, we could have used him in this patch. Going to a 4-5-1 when we were 2 to the good at home with arsenal was negative and stupid... who lets arsenal come at them?? Really??

He needs to stay, because i dont see a reason that he shouldnt have a chance... he's done well, and up until recently we all looked at that squad and thought, wow, we can do damage... a bad run of results is a test of his metal, but one im sure he'll come through, when he starts playing players on merit, and passion.

When will we learn to be patient at spurs.... we arent a big club at the moment, and its going to take time to put us back where we belong... whoever does it.

one thing i dont like , we allways rush players back from injuries.take tanio he's been out for a good few spells, and allways rushed back into the team quick as possible. The modern game is a lot quicker than 20 years ago,but still in the past managers used to build up a players fitness and slowly intoduce them back into the 1st team, the idea being to then get the player match fit!! Now how many games this year have we had rushed players back in the 1st team? YES we are not a big club that proves it,the quality that jol feels he has and the extra pressure he places on returning injured players in pursuit of results is worth the cost, but i dont believe so. It's just not done at the top four and like they got more quality then us,they NEVER take to the field without 11 matchfit players, atm i doubt very much if tanio or janus are matchfit and we trying to win away from home,i know lennon and hudd were ill so this week ,it had to be done. And there's the real problem the SQUAD quality that is not gonna change over night and maybe wont be improved apon greatly till we get champs league and leads you into a chicken and egg situation!! now push back that 20 year itch!! IT sadly comes down to 1 thing football these days and if levi cannot provide the bullits then being a fan he should step aside and allow the club to compete as it deserves too!!

And we must sack Damien Comolli for bringing complete players to our club:

Young-Pyo Lee
Teemu Tainio
Hossam Ghaly
Benoit Assou-Ekotto

it all seems to of gone rather tits up since comielle came into the club, what sort of signing was rocha (not exactly young)?
now like Jol, but this seasons just gone from bad to worse, i think the end of season would be a better time judge, at least we are still in fa and uefa cups. win one those, and his saved his job (rember fergie when he came close to being sacked and secured himself more time with the fa cup win over palace)
seems to be that people compare Jol to ferguson, he could well turn out that way.
then again we could have an arsene wenger, he inherited a good squad and finished 3rd in his 1st season. jurgen klinsmann could well do that, just look at what he did with germany, a young inexperianced germany with a suspect defence, and lets face it they played beautifully!
he would make us play the spurs way, his also full of new training methods, a real modern manager.
and perhaps with klinsmann it would seem more like a derby game with arsenal (germany vs france perhaps)

With no wins in the last 6 results, no wonder pressure is growing on Jol. He made a load of excuses in his post match interview against Sheff Utd. He appears to be losing his authority at the club.

That is why he must be sacked if we do not win any of the next 4 games!!

Damien Comolli must also be held to account for spending millions omn dross players: Young-Pyo Lee,Teemu Tainio, Hossam Ghaly, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Ziegler & Ahmed Mido.

See, gents, Jol is not the nice guy you lot think he is. Ask the players and they will tell you off record. ask Davids and I'm sure he will tell you on record.

With the money we had spend, we must be at least 5th by now.

Jol just don't cut it.... at spurs anyway.I like the way he handle himself in public but nice guy don't win you points. He don't have the street smartness chaps like big Sam or Harry R. possess. It's hard to tell whether Jol is a lousy manager as Harry R. was rubbish at West Ham but now come good at Pompey.Same story with Houllier now at Lyon.

It's going to be tough for Levy what to do next.Sack Jol and start thr rebuilding all over again ?Or stick with him when all the flaws are so apparent.

Maybe Jol needs help.Chris hughton has been around for too long.Maybe getting a better right hand man would do the trick.

PROOF YOU AINT A BIG CLUB ANYMORE

Real Madrid star Robinho has rejected talk he could move to Tottenham if he decided to leave El Santiago Bernabeu.

The Brazilian international recently voiced his disappointment at his lack of first team chances this season.

Robinho has struggled to hold down a spot in Fabio Capello's starting XI this term.

The former Santos man hinted he could consider his future at Real if his situation did not improve.

Rumours emanating from Spain suggested Tottenham were monitoring Robinho's situation, but the classy forward has dismissed the possibility of moving to White Hart Lane.

Robinho insists Tottenham are not a big enough club for him if he was to leave the Spanish capital.

"Reports that I'd move to Tottenham are wide of the mark," Robinho told Marca.

"If I had to leave Real, I'd choose to join another a big club.

"I don't regard Tottenham Hotspur as a big club."

Martin jol is the man to take us to the next level but he has to brush up on these signings you lot on here keep saying its the players fault but its not the players play to their ability and the likes of assou-ekotto,ghaly,murphy,zokora,gardner,lee,stalteri,mido,rocha,davenport,are all average players i blame mj,ch,dc the signings have been terrible i could write a list of players we could have signed instead of them that would now see us in the top 5 but i think we give them untill the end of next season if we dont qualify for the c/lge all 3 must go.

Looks like Levy's made his wedge and is ready to cash-in.

IF it's true and we're sold, lets hope it results in a new ground without a huge dept and without the chelski type tidal wave of money on players.

IF.

If levy do leave as chairman, it will be one of the saddest day in the club history. The club solid financial position despite our huge outlay on players showed that he was a excellent chairman who had back the manager.

Levy is a very clever operator, the most academically qualified chairman in the premiership; cambridge economics graduate.

He needs to stay for the good of the club. But I believed he is one of the most unlucky chairman around.; missing out on the CL spot,Arnesan defecting and Satini leaving are events he could not control.

The man who I think who holds the key for the long term future of the club is not MJ,King or Lennon, but our very dynamic chairman.

Jol is a fantastic manager and this is no more than a blip, it will go away hopefully today and we will be thankful for all the MR Jol has brought to the club. We are all passionate about our club but i suggest some of you look at the last 15 years and see what real spurs fans have been through ! Jol has been our savour and i believe he will build a great side before he "decides" to leave not when the minority of fans think its time....

I guess u can’t have your cottage pie and eat it???

For the Fulham fan that said our season would end today... What else are your bags of shit, spurs rejects, playing for now?

For the shallow spurs fan who said our away form has been "relegation form" what happened today? Perhaps the players had a week without all u fickle shitbag fans on there back, perhaps they need your support, not your mindless rants and pessimistic chants!

I still remember the truly bad days, get your fucking heads up and do your club proud!!!!!!

GET BEHIND YOUR TEAM!!!

WE ARE SPURS!!
SPUS ARE WE!!!!

Read in the esteemed Feb edition of "World soccer" in a Q&A with Seville manager Juande Ramos that he was approached through his agents about the coaching role at our club.Seville also used the similar coach/sporting director structure and Ramos is totally at ease with that kind of arrangement.I don't think any English managers are comfortable with that kind of arrangement.

I think Levy has been planning the plan B if things don't worked out with Jol.

But I think Jol got things right last night. We were solid against Fulham and we kept a clean sheet.I rather have 4-0 than 6-1 if you ask me.

this is nothing if we go back again. if we stop evolving we won't beat any of the top four and we won't get the FACUP and neither will we get the UEFA CUP.
so, smile, lads, BUT concentrate, please. Everton is a must win. Keep the pressure on them Jol.
