Ferdinand linked and others.

Good sources on FTL and COYS have said we have made a four million pound bid for Anton Ferdinand from West Ham. I saw this news on some of the more gossipy websites like Fans FC, which will generally post any old rubbish, but now reliable sources have said we have indeed shown an interest. I'm not sure if this is good news or not. Always highly rated I am not sure he has lived up to his potential that he had shown early doors and is not as good as his brother. He is also a fully paid up member of the Billy Big Bling Boys club (President Nigel Reo Coker) but weather he is the full cause of West Ham's problems or is just along with the ride with that trouble maker Re-Coker I am not sure.

He can probably improve as a player alongside players such as King and Dawson and away from the gang like mentality that seems to exist at Upton Park amongst certain groups of players. However, at the moment, I can only see him as cover for King and Dawson unless King has long term problems or someone has made a stupid money offer and our greedy board is ready to accept.

Curtis Davis has also been linked again and West Brom has turned down a five million pound bid for him and we are sniffing around Ashley Young as well at Watford.

As always, until Jol is bear hugging them in a Mansion shirt take it all with a pinch of salt.

In other news, Reo-Coker is apparently off to the scum. Lets hope he causes as much problems there as he is currently at Wet Spam.

COYS!

The only guaranteed signing this January is Torres who is joining on the 31st.

Jol has said he is happy with the squad and it doesn't need much improvement in this window. If everyone is fit I agree with him, although the left midfield position is still a problem. Overall though I can not see much in the way of transfers on this occasion, although I am sure we will be linked with 30 players every day.

We ARE actually getting Torres but we're not signing for it unless it's being brought by courier. Someone from the office will just pop down to sainsbury's for a bottle. I prefer the Windy Peak pinot noir at Marks & Spencer myself, although coming all the way from australia means it has a high air-fuel/eco-unfriendly cost in which case the french (obviously) 2005 Cuvee des Antiques Chateauneuf-du-pape at sainsbury's is the best value red I've had for some time. Think it was about seven quid ish.

Who thinks anton ferdinand is good enough for Spurs or better than Davenport.

Davenport is underated and anyway we've bought too many Spammer rejects in recent years. We don't need a young centre half we need an experienced guy, like Naybet was two years before we bought him. I don'tthink Jol and Comoli have any long term plan. They don'tknow who they want to buy from one week to the next. As for Torres, what can we offer him? A second rate stadium and around 5 points out of 24 every season when we play the top four. I don't think so.

Best News of the day

Wenger will lead a Arsenal players on a mass repentant ceremony...with a new resolution that they will cut their cheating habit by half, in 2007.......But they are still a bunch of cheaters and bad loosers

Re:9.08pm

It's been some time since I've seen a post the fist half of which makes perfect sense and the second half which sounds like it was written by a clue-less piss artist with an axe to grind. Are you half a gooner?

Strange!

re Yid 15

No. I am not a piss artist or even an iota of a Gooner. I am just a realist who saw my first game in 1963 (4-4 v Gooners) and with the possible exception of 84/85 have never looked like winning the Championship in all that time. Just look at our buys in recent years. We are like kids in a sweet shop every time the window opens and it is sad because we really aren't a million miles away but we just can't seem to get there. For example it has taken four buys to get one decent full back (Chimbonda).

Don't know if any of you know, but a Dutch newspaper claims the Spurs are in talks with Nigel de Jong.

It's a poor translation but roughly means "Nigel de Jong has yesterday in Rewarded with Tottenham Hotspur negotiated over a transition."

Make what you like of it.

Never let Anthony Gardner leave!!! he is to important to us! He should play reuglarly cause Daws has done som bumps in the last matches (not that i dislike him at all!) but i think Garnder deserves a chance! i know what he is cappable of (England Class!) .

Instead get ridd of the lousy Davenport, he does not know how to play football ( and definetly not how to be a centre back) I really cant understand why Jol choose to use Callum! SERIOUSLY.

Jol does some dumb subs too.. and he's not using Davids either! i must have missed somthing here Jol... WHY ?

Re:9.34pm Anon

Ok so I over-egged the pudding when I verbally abused you but "2nd rate stadium"? And all that negative stuff about losing to the top teams?

Most clubs lose to the top teams, that's why they ARE the top teams. That doesn't make every other club worthless no-hopers.

While you were discussing why on earth Torres would want to come to Spurs, what stopped you from pointing out that we finished an impressive 5th last season and that we're currently still in the FA cup and the league cup semi final and that we've won all our uefa cup games so far, topping our group and that our stadium is filled to capacity or close to it whether we play at the weekend or midweek and no matter who we play and that we've been steadily buying up some of the best young talent around over the past couple of years etc....?

There is more that one way to look at things and yours was pretty pessimistic when I would argue that it needn't have been. Maybe you need a holiday from football to re-group? Or maybe Spurs' relative (and it IS relative) lack of success since the year of my birth and the begining of your support has slowly ground you down? It is primarily a form of entertainment after all so come on my fellow yid, develop some of that good old positive thinking and start talking us up, I know you've got it in you. Think of where we stand now compared to just a few years ago. Why do you think we've attracted players like Gascoine, Lineker, Waddle, Ardiles, Ginola and Klinnsman over the years? We have more potential than most clubs to capitalize greatly from any success we achieve due to our progressive, flamboyant and high achieving past.
The sort of past very few clubs can claim to have enjoyed and a present situation all but a few must envy.

Torres might like to come to Tottenham for the same reasons which attracted Berbatov or Chimbonda. One of this country's most exciting young sides with potential that stretches to the begining of the next decade.

COME ON YOU SPURS!
