Newcastle Vs. Spurs

Another chance presents itself to improve on the away record in the Premiership this Saturday up at Newcastle. If we can put in the same first half performance against Citeh and carry it on for a bit longer into the second half then three points can be ours. However Newcastle are an improving outfit and will provide a stiff challenge to the boys. A point is the minimum required to keep us moving in the right direction and I hope the return of King into the back four, along with Lee and Chimbonda, will help us to keep a clean sheet.

I expect Berbatov wil be recalled to the first eleven to partner in form striker jermaine Defoe. Lennon may not make it due to a slight knee problem so I expect Zokora and Huddlestone to make the midfiled partnership with Tainio on the left and Ghaly on the right. This means we will be narrow across the middle and Ghaly and Tainio will have to help push the Newcastle wingers back to protect Lee and Chimbonda. If Tom and Zokora can take contol of the central areas we can push on for the win.

id like to see malbranque left and ghaly right if lennn not fit. hudds and zokora best central mid pairing in absense of jenas.

with 4 games in 10 days, i can see jol chopping and changing - this is where the strength in depth of the squad comes into its own.

a winnable game if spurs show the right commitment and passion which has thankfully returned since the scum atrocity.

another chance for defoe hopefully to give a 2 finger salute to all his doubters - the blokes on fire at the moment!

Tainio is injured allegedly. Hopefully this will ensure Zokora and Huddlestone in the middle. The injuries at the moment seem to be going the way of many of the supporters who post on these sites. Tainio, Davids, Jenas and Keane are giving way for a decent run for Big Tom with Zokora in front of him and Malbranque in midfield (pity Lennon's got a knock but may be fit). Also Berby & Defoe are getting a run due to Robbie's bad luck. Makes a change for injuries not to spell disaster.

    Go on the Spurs!

PhysioRoom has Lennon as very doubtful for tomorrows match, and Ghaly at doubtful. Id expect the middle would be Tainio/Thud/Zokora/Malbranque. I would love to see Lennon back in the line-up , but id rather see him be 100% healthy and have a better chance of staying healthy instead of reinjuring that nagging knee problem.

I go with 5 across the midfield since we have no natural width for this game.

Zokora and Hudd will be join by Malbranque in the center, denying Newcastle any channel through the
    midfield.

Davids on the left and Ghaly on the right.

Berbatov the lone striker. He may not enjoy the role but it's worth a try.

Its not a game for the chavalier as Newcastle excel on the counter attack.

Martins is the big big danger.Shut him up and half the job is done.
Another key battle will be between Lee and Dyer.

We have to be patient and drain Newcastle with lots of possession.

Tainio was poor in the week. I hope Ghaly and Zakora are back to partner Hud and Malbrnaque who were our two best players against southend.

Tough game, but if we are positive and go for it...we can win!

    Simple as that.
