Jol gets it wrong.

I am not usually one to criticise Jol as he has done good things for the club and I still feel he can take us places but he got it wrong today. The scum were there for the taking in my opinion with three first team players out either injured or suspended and a game in midweek while we had the week off. However we looked to contain the filth instead of going for them like Bolton and Fulham did. Keane was told to drop deep and stop Fabregas from playing but he did not do very well and Tainio was not in the game in the first half. We allowed the scum to put Lennon out of the game - they put three on him, but did not use the space this created elsewhere on the pitch. Berbatov was isolated and found it difficult to get into the game.

We should have played our usual 4-4-2 formation and kept with JD. I'm no massive fan of Defoe but he worked very well with Berbatov against Wigan and his pace would have given the scum back four more to worry about.

The ref had his role to play with three lousy decisions costing us three goals. Both penalties were joke decisions and the dodgy offside saw us two nil down at half time and out of the game. But I agree with Jol here - we cannot put too much onto the ref (even tho he cost us three goals) as we did not turn up in the first half. We allowed the goons to pass around us and we gave them far too much respect. Zokora and Tainio should have been in hard on their two central midfield players but more often than not we were left chasing shadows - the display all round was just not good enough.

Hopefully we can get this defeat out of the system quickly with a win against 'Boro but unless we start picking up away points very quickly we shall find ourselves back in mid table rubbish once again.

Oh, and scum fans - crap support as usual deciding to finally make any real noise when you went 3-0 up - Pathetic, as usual.

On behalf of gooners everywhere, I would like to thank Tottenham F.C. and all you spud fans. Today's result has really made my weekend and perhaps even the weeks to come. Your lot was easily handled by our young squad and I think our team's confidence is on the up now. No Henry, No Gallas, No problem. I would also like to try out my psychic abilities as well, if you don't mind of course.

In the very near future I see:
"Adebayor was offside"
"Two dodgy penalties you cheats!"
"How much did you pay the Ref"
"This board is for spurs fans, go home you scum/gooner/(insert expletive)"

P.S. You lot played like you had a bit too much lasagne last night.

lets face it we knew we were going to lose that game after about 10 minutes.

Jol went there with a negative mind set (as he has seen teams suceed doing it at new library this season)
and it was hard to turn it around afterwards.
the first goal was not offside, just bad defending by Dawson.

it's just a shame that at a time when Arsenal were there for the taking we let them off the hook. when last season we went there with more at stake and a weaker side and totally bossed the game (and should've won)

oh well lets hope that kicks some of the big name non-performers of today up the backside.

as for the vitriol in the stands, it's a sad indictment on society that a normal looking woman in the crowd was screaming at lennon (who had just lost the ball for a throw) with such hatred that you would be forgiven for thinking he had killed her only son

Message to all Gooners on this site:

Show some class. Don't talk about how shite our Spurs were today. Talk about how your team played well despite lacking their most creative player and having lost 2 on the trot.

Yes, our lads bottled it. Your boys performed well at home, like they're supposed to.

No one here's blaming Poll for the loss (the score maybe, but not the loss).

Despite this (and any other poor performance past or future) I will ALWAYS be proud to support my Spurs.

You can have your Wenger and the rest of your squad -- I couldn't give a rat's ass if they won the league, FA Cup, or even Champions League. I would rather support Spurs any day.

When we should have really gone for them and maybe played Keane dropping left side off Berbatov and Defoe, Jol got it wrong and went for safety.

After Defoe finally looked sharp and pacy last week, Jol got it wrong and dropped him.

When Zakora was looking so much like a fish out of water that the RSPCA were threatening legal action, Jol got it wrong and kept him on.

Malbranque off when he had looked the only one coming anywhere near scoring, Defoe only on ten minutes from time, Taino picked ahead of Jenas.

Jol couldn't have made a bigger mess of it. He talks a good future but every week it moves two weeks further away.

berbatov defoe

balance, strength, motivation, fight, character, creativity - all things lacking today which the above team would give us imo.

ffs jol, play a settled team. rotation is for when you're winning games and can rest players. we are lacking familiarity and cohesion.

pains me to say it, but zokora and 8million dont go together.

make jenas captain - at least he tries and shows some committment and plays in the middle of the park. how can king and berbatov communicate ?!

wouldn't like to be in middlesboro shoes - point to prove spurs.

It pains me to say but we were poor and ARSE fully deserved their win. I am man enough to say congratulations to them, although i hate everything to do with ARSEnal FC, their fans and players.

7.36 says we were knew we were going to lose after about 10 minutes, agreed. Where was the passion ? Where was the fight ?

Poll had nothing to do with the loss, but the score, yes. Regardles we didn't deserve anything.

Ekotto ? WTF! Another example of no competition to push him, too lazy and sloppy.

I think the first goal was poor defending and as much as i would like to say he was offside, he was level at worst.

The first pen was (imo) NOT a pen but you see them given. That killed the game as a contest even thought here were no signs it was a contest anyway.

Third goal was a slap in the face. Foul by Jenas, yes but Pen NO. Van Persie clearly handball it before he got inthe box but Lady luck was no on our side today.

When is Jol gonna learn the Lennon is wasted on the left, too predictable and easy to defend against.

Berbatov (for all his talent) once again looked like he could'nt be bothered away from home, at least Keane showed willing and chased players down, he understands the meaning of NLD.

Would have like Huddlestone to have started, great passer and usefull in a game like this (Carrick last year anyone)

Robbo must have felt like a man with his hands tied behind his back.

Ledley is the KING and i feel he deserves to be playing for someone like AC Milan because he is the bollocks, a shining star who rarely puts a foot wrong, never gives the ball away and doesn't let anyone walk past him, technically up there with the best in the world in all my 28 years on this planet. Carries the team at times defensively.

Dawson is still learning and in only his second full season is improving all the time, one for the future NO DOUBT

Chimbonda let the occasion get to him.

Midfield was poor, sloppy passes, no drive, no runs, no idea!

We didn't win one 50-50 ball and did not do the basics, like closing the oppo down, passing to our own team-mates and we lacked movement.

We got schooled today no doubt, but we will bounce back and climb the table and come the end of the season i feel we will not have let ourselves down.

Good thing is we don't have to wait long to put things right and with our next 3 games at home i can't wait to get back to the Lane and cheer my Spurs on to glory.

As for taking the captaincy off King, Dannyboy, that's more pathetic than today's performace.

I agree with some of the comments about King not being captain. All succesful teams have strong leaders on the pitch, United have Neville and in the past had Keane, Chelsea have Terry and the Scum had the Donkey - all are natural leaders who rally their troops and get them up for the game. The only problem is there are really no other leaders on the pitch apart from Dawson - too young some may say - but if Terry can be captain of Chelsea at his age then why not Dawson? As for Jol, his tactical abilities are not up to scratch, player selection poor and his ability to motivate or get angry with players is annoying to say the least. I used to admire his genial nature now I am starting to loathe. I would rather have a Whinging Wenger, Moaning Mourinho or a Four Word Ferguson than someone who cannot clearly say the right or wrong (if required) things to get his players up for a game. Berbatov will never succeed in this league, he is ok against sides who let you play football and let's face it in the Premiership these days most teams don't give you the time. How can a player who cost £80K from Cork bag 7 premiership goals for Reading and an £11m striker only score twice - the answer is passion, fight and hard work - something which Berbatov seems to have known of. I would much rather see Mido play as he has the right attitude. Assou-Ekotto is worse than LYP and that say's a lot! He should be dropped immediately and is not Premiersip class. Tainio should fill the LB position until we find a suitable replacement or Phil Ifil should get a chance. Huddlestone should be starting games and offers more variety than Zokora who lacks consistency is his performances so far.

As a Spurs fan that article is F%$£ing embarrassing... it's the sort of article I expect on a gooner site... how can you say ... I agree with Jol, you can't put too much on the ref (he cost us the three goals though)... blah blah - I stopped reading here... ONE penalty decision was a joke, great tackle from Chimbonda, but to be fair, I though he'd done him in normal time, it was only when I saw the replay I realised it was a good tackle.... The other penalty, Jenas took his legs, their other goal wasn't offside, Chimbonda played him on... unfortunatly mate, you got to learn to lose with bit more dignity.... because at the moment you look like a C**T.. We were sh!t from start to finish, it was apalling, Ars* played well, I hate to say it, but they proved we aren't where we want to be yet... I was pi55ed off enough watching us yesterday, then I come in and read it was all down to the ref.... I think it was down to our lack of a performance in a game that it seemed they wanted more! blaming the ref is just a cop out, are you sure you aint Wenger in disguise... I hope I speak on behalf of other tottenham fans, but to be honest I haven't read the other comments, cos I know it's gonna be full of gloating gooners..

It was the manner in which we lost, rather than the scoreline that was depressing for me. Congrats goes to those Arseholes today, a deserved win by the team that wanted it more for their fans.

Last year Spurs competed in pretty much every game they played which was the first time in over a decade i could have said that, playing two NLD's with pride and passion that were very very close, today our players played it like it was a pre-season friendly.

Dont blame Jol, its the players who should hang their heads in shame today. All the talent and tactics in the world dont matter a light without effort and commitment.

All the players on both sides know how much it means to the fans, why did only the Arseholes rise to it?

Reading was a blip i can handle, this was more than that. Make it the last one please.

BTW - I dont usually rise to comments by minors, but to all you Arsepasters on here - its good to see you at last, a song comes to mind...you only sing when your winning, sing when your winning....

Poll got 4 major decisions wrong - the 3 goals + the offside decision against Berbatov before the first goal.I can't remember when I've seen so many controversial goals in one game - yes, spurs were poor and there was a noticable drop in tempo after the first goal. However I think Jol was far too polite about Poll - then again he's not a winging wanga.
However he does need to put some fire into the team. This starts by not giving the Arse respect and making sure the players don't either.
I'd also like to see him use Huddlestone as Carrick's replacement, play Defoe alongside Berbatov with Lennon on the right wing and Keane on the left.

I've been to three aways this season Bolton, Reading and Arsenal, I don't think I've seen five mins of decent football from us in all those games put together. Jol can you tell me why we are shit scared to attack and try to win a match away from home and why do you persist in trying to make probably the best natural right winger in the country play on the left where he is always looking to cut in onto his right foot and gets found out after two mins ?

There is one thing wrong with Tottenham nowadays, and that is Jol. Why? We have a leftback who has gone from fairly good to bad to worse, we have a midfield without drive and creativity; Zokora cant make a forward pass, Tainio is not EPL-material. In addition we have one very good striker, but he is on the bench. Jol does not understand that in order to get points we have to attack, even after being one down, or even at halftime he could not do any vital changes. He substituted a terrible fb with another, and took off the only midfielder who seemed to be able of accomplishing anything. And sending on Defoe for the last 10 minutes is braindead. Jols negative style is ruining Spurs, and in Europe we have not met any serious opposition yet. With so much money Jol has spent over the 2 years in charge(60mill pounds), we really should expect more. New manager asap.

I couldn't watch the game yesterday & after hearing the result I didn't even watch MOTD! I did catch the first two goals (He wasn't offside, but it wasn't a pen). Regardless all reporsts say we were garbage.
A few points.

Jol Out - Don't be daft, we had our best season for years. We seem to have taken a step back but it was never going to be plain sailing

Leadership - We don't have one on. King is world class but not a capt. We need a player who will let others know when they are not pulling their weight (Roy Keane, Terry even Gary Neville!). The only player we have like that is Davids and unfortunatly he's past it. Maybe Daws can develop, who knows but until we have that we are too soft teams always fancy it against us even when we are playing well.

Left hand side - BAE can't defend & we need two players in quick, a left winger to open the park up for Lennon and a left back who can defend. For me Bridge could solve one problem but I feel we need a real star on the left to take us to the next level (Robben, Ribbery although I don't thnik we stand much chance of getting them).

Zokora & Berbs - very inconsistent but they're new to this style of football give them time its too early to judge them 1/2 way through a their 1st season.

Big Tom - Gotta play in my eyes

Rotation - not a fan we need to have more of a settled team.

Ars*nal - Better than us. Although if I was them I would be worried as the gap has narrowed and they are the worst they've been in 10 years. (I know your a young side before you say Goon scum, but there's no g'tee they'll get better).

Chill out I'm Jol will give out the bollocking. Keep the faith as they say these things are sent to test us!

The guy is a lazy overpaid waste of a player who couldn't finish his dinner let alone a goal.

He did one thing against wigan all game, he should have buried two before that and strolled around the pitch like he was taking his dog for a walk.

I personally hope he goes in January and takes his ego and attitude with him.

The away form all season has been awful but the manager has kept with same system surely the coaching staff can see the same as us or are they to afraid to tell the manager something he wont like! The players must press further up the pitch, not wait for the other teams to dictate the pace of the game the midfield must support the forwards quicker dont give me the rubbish about the rotation system if we dont give them the ball they cant score it dont matter who plays! The players have to take large responsabilty for the performance to sum it up in one word gutless. To all you fans calling for the head of jol, rating berbs along side rebrov, saying jenas should be dropped,King should not be captain you clearly dont know what your talking about.martin is the best manager for the job wo else would you rather have? Berbatov is quality he is not quite strong enough for the prem yet but he will be who else would you rather have? Jenas is the only midfielder who supports the attack his workrate is the best at the club!King should be captain Davids shouts alot should he be captain!NO! There are other players who are captains for their country but king is the best man for the job! FACT. so many people come on here and moan, rightly so but have some answers for your questions!!!!! This last bit is for the whole club WHY? DO YOU HURT ME SO WHEN I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All opinions welcome of course but park len please stop being silly, please stop shouting (your caps lock is not stuck), please stop leaving big gaps between your sentences (it make you seem as self important as that puffed up peacock henry) and please learn the difference between 'thier' & 'there'. If you're not a gooner, you do a very respectable impersonation of one.

All the best mate,

Yid15.
