Is there any pride in our team?

As I think more and more about the scum game I think that the Spurs players are a bunch of over hyped lazy bastards and tomorrow is a great time for them to prove me otherwise. Regardless of what Poll did or what team Jol put out their should have been some fight from our boys in the derby game. To see an under strength scum team, who without Henry are not really much better than us, play the ball around us was plain embarrasing. They were clearly up for it and looked like they wanted to win. Only Keane and Dawson showed any real fight and looked liked they gave a shit against our biggest enemy.

King comes onto the Spurs website the following day saying how sorry he felt for the fans and I'm sure he did but where was the fighting talk from him on Saturday. Jol's saving grace was that he looked fucked off and he had the players in for training on Sunday. He needs to have told them, in no uncertain terms, what a fecking awful performance the players put in on Sunday and how that shower of shit against anyone, let alone the scum, can nenver be tolerated again.

Against 'Boro I want to see a reaction. I want to see every player fight for that ball and take the game to Middlesboro. I don't want to see an opposition goal be the only thing that kick starts our game, as in recent weeks. We need to not let 'Boro get near the ball. Man for man, squad for squad, we should be top 5 every season but with gutless performances abound top 10 will be lucky.

Jol needs to make it clear to the current squad that they need to perform week in week out. No more fucking around away from home - we need to start beating the shit - Jol improved our away form no end last season, and now it is a mess. Whatever Carrick brought to the team find someone else who can - Tainio and Zokora aren't currently it. Let Zokora do what he did in Europe. Put Huddlestone alongside him tomorrow and when fit, Jenas back in the team - everyone could see what he brought to the team in the second half against th filth. And in January, sort out that left side once and for all.

Another season of mid table rubbish and even higher prices will not be tolerated and while we will all probably all turn up again next season, the players who have the ability to make us great again - the King's, the Lennon's, the Dawson's will be fucking off to some other club. It must not be allowed to happen.

100% spot on mate, every word is true, Spurs have played like overpaid tarts away from home this season, no tackling, no passion, no desire, lazy gutless bastards !!!.

PS- Get tough with them Martin Jol, and sort them out.

You understate the absolute disgrace of a performance. In fact, the worst performance from a Spurs side since we lost to Leeds at home when Gerry Francis was manager and played 4 wingers across the middle.

What went through the players mind when they ran out onto the field. How hard is it after 10 minutes to say "right we need to harder in the tackle, hunt them down, play like Bolton!" Absolute foookin disgrace. Every time we can land a knockout punch to those b***tards from Cashburn Grove, we drop our guard and say have a free punch on the chin!

A great manager motivates a team, ie before they go out. that sad bunch of pussies were not motivated, they were out fought by a bunch of young kids from the continent
without carrick we need someone to pass the ball. a passer is of very limited effectiveness unless he has people to pass to. that requires that the forwards make runs, berbatov did that against wigan to good effect. keane can never do it to good effect because he is the slowest striker in the prem, at least when teddy isnt playing and i reckon teddy wd run him close. defoe is always making runs and is a fabulous finisher when confident, ie when playing. jenas will never fulfill his promise until he decides he doesnt mind the physical side of the game. i doubt there is a player who can cover 80 yards quicker, i dont think there is one who can control a ball better, but there are several hundred who can concentrate enough not to give it away with a sloppy square pass. and there is not a player in the lower didvisions who is more willing to pull out of a tackle if it looks like there might be some physical contact. he is a big boy and could be great, but a prima donna who flatters to deceive is all we are ever likely to get. huddlestone passes it well,m but unless people make runs we are left with lennon becoming ever more a one man show and ever more predictable. opposition can be broken down with movement and passing or beating men one on one. lennon doing the latter is about all we have at the moment.

I'm 100% behind Martin Jol but i also agree that he needs to start teaching some of the players a hard lesson. some of them are just not good enough and some are too lazy to put in the effort on a consistant basis! our away form is embarassing and the players should be ashamed of themselves.

I feel let down by the way we lost on Saturday and the players and Martin Jol should know how disgusted and disappointed we are! They should be ashamed of themselves.

we have to get our left back situation sorted, ekotto is far too casual, stands there chewing his gum like a cocky chav, when in truth he has got absolutely nothing to be cocky about, afraid most of our lads dont no what is required of them in a nld.

Next game drop Zakora, Ekotto and Taino and that means no room for them on the bench either. Make Dawson captain. Bring in Ifil and put Chimbonda left back (Lee Y-P always turns on to his right foot anyway),play Jenas, have Huddlestone in holding role, Lennon right, Keane left (a la Chelsea game) and have Defoe and Berbatov up front (until Mido is fit).

In January ditch Lee, Stalteri, Gardner and Taino and give Zakora, Ekotto and King a final warning. Then find some players who want to play for the club because half the current lot clearly don't want to.

100% agree with your comments mate.

it pains me, but as ive said it before, one of the problems is king is not captain material.
dont get me wrong, he is the best centre half in the country by a mile, but dont you wish he lead by example like john terry? bollock people and gee them up as and when required. too quiet for my liking.

as for the rest, they need to realise, and the sooner the better, we will not tolerate a lack of pride in wearing the famous lilywhite shirt, which was all too evident on saturday.

how i hope jenas can become the world class player he so obviously can become. make him captain, like he was at notts forest and newcastle, and with the added responsibility i reckon he will improve 10 fold. same goes for huddlestone, given an extended run in the team which he deserves.

all said, we have a fantastic squad, on paper, to rival any in the premiership. its about time we proved it.

as paying spurs fans, we expect a big improvement in the next 3 games and a massive game against man city AWAY.

Wow! What an embarrassingly reactionary and childishly hysterical bunch of silly's we have on this site. Over the entire course of Jol's time at Spurs have we improved over the previous 10 to 15 years or worsened? I think we all know the answer. The premiership is still very tight points wise between 12th and 3rd place. Remember that we had several VERY embarrassing defeats last season and came 5th so please stop panicking, there's a long way to go and Jol's team building is clearly not finished. While Jol sorts out the wheat from the chaff, how about contributing the appropriate criticism in a manner appropriate to a 'supporter'. IF indeed that's what you are.

We fucked up bigtime and we need to learn but the goons still lost to fulham & bolton so despite turning it on against us on a very bad day, they ain't all that themselves. 6 points ahead of us, so fuckin what? There's a long way to go

MJ must get tough with the team. OK, a manager needs to motivate the team, but against Arsenal? The players should be able to motivate themselves if they have pride in our club and for our fans.

Again the left side is still a problem. Ekotto is not much better than Lee. Malbranque did look good on left against Wigan but he is not the full time answer.

Centre of Midfield is not right yet. Get rid of Jenaswhilst can can get some decent money for him and bring in a more experienced playmaker.

One thought of concern..... Comolli. Has anyone seen the players he brought into Arsenal...

Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy, Jeremie Aliadiere, Sebastien Svaard, Moritz Volz, Arturo Lupoli, Guy Demel.

Apart from Toure they hardly set the world on fire!

Spurs are "rumoured" to be looking to raid Lens in January for more French players.. Aarrghhh

Jol tell the man who you want to sign and make him sign them!!

Yes we were shit on Saturday and it hurt a lot, but I can't believe all the hatred towards Jol on the forum! He has done great since he has been with us. Yes our away record is poor, but I am sure we will sort it out. We are doing well in the cups too so we are not exactly having a terrible season. And we are only 6 points off 3rd. Not the end of the world is it? And Jol can't be totally blamed for what happened on Saturday. So many players were off form. Not many managers could have done much with the way our team performed. It was bad, but we know what they are capable of and I'm sure this is the sort of kick up the ars they needed. If we had won on Saturday Jol would have been seen as a god. This is why us Spurs fans are thought of as being fickle! We will have bad times ahead I'm sure but I have have no doubts that we will have great times ahead too. Lets be positive. Saturday was awful but the fucking ref didn't help things. Who know if we went in 1-0 down at half time, things may have gone very differently.
I have faith in Jol and the players. Lets all get behind the team. For christ sake, we have lost two games in 15. That is not too bad. We still have many things to improve on and I still think Berbatov and Zokora ar estill trying to get to grips with the premiership, but I think in time they both will. It took Henry about 4 months before he started to do the business for the scum, and I'm sure once Berbatov gets the odd away goal, he will be flying.
Come on you Spurs! Lets forget about Saturday and move on!

It's as frustrating as watching England play! So many times you watch England play and say "WTF is this sh*t? Get ya f'kin act together and put some effort into it ... and try looking like you actually wanna win"
I've concluded that England is not a managable team coz they really cant be bothered when on the pitch.

Similar thing going on here. The team needs a f'kin dynamite up the back-side and need to make an effort before they can become managable. MJ can do all he can but if the lazy twats are gonna ignore all that on the pitch, then its never gonna happen.

The '91 semi ... Arse never stood a chance! And why? Coz it was all planned out and the team did as they were told. All the fine tuning Tel did would have been a waste of time with the current team (who have just this second conceded against Boro!!!!!!!) coz they need to GET THEIR F'KIN ACT TOGETHER FIRST!

Those always claiming Defoe should start -- really? Keane was on the pitch 2 bloody minutes before scoring the winner today vs Boro!!

Anyhow, glad to see Spurs bounce back ... 66-34 possession advantage for Tottenham, 24-6 adv in shots (12-3 on target, 12-3 off target)! Well done boys. Much better.

Today, Ekotto not in the squad. Hud in. See, Jol knows what he's doing, especially after giving them a much needed rollicking following the Arse debacle (although I admit it's a bit disturbing to hear the players mouthed off back to the skipper).

It took me about 4 days to get over this sick feeling. It's not the defeat by Arsenal that make me so fed up.It's the performance.

It's always the same problem.Nervous looking first 20 mins and these guys are internationals...

Once again we conceded an early goal and on Tuesday night we conceded another goal from a corner.

Zokora instead of concentrating on the game went shaking hands with Arsenal players before the game started. What a mess he is.losing possession time and again.

There was no sense of urgency from ANYONE.I mean anyone.Someone mention Dawson as battling away. But I can't imagine a player smiling when we are a goal down.

Someone mentioned not long ago to award Jol a new contract. In fact I think his Job is on the line if things don't improved.Levy is not decieved by 1 or 2 good games.

Many managers would die to have one of any 4 of the forwards we have here.4 absolutely top drawer players but Jol can't get them going.

A better manager would have done more with this team who should already be challenging at the top.
Jol did nothing special so far.To hear rumors of unrest in the dressing room is proved that he don't even earned the full respect of his players.Something is wrong which only Jol and the players know full well.

With Keane out for 4-6 weeks and Mido still injured, i say introduce Pekhart to the Squad and stick him on the bench, why not?

Scores goals in the reserves and would be a good exercise for him given his age.

It's either him, Barnard (injured?)or Barcham.

Sick of us never giving the chance to the 'so called talent' we have in the reserves/youth team, this is the chance because there's no way that Bertbatov and Defoe will be able to play in every minute of all the 8 games we have til new years day.

Think Terry Dixon is injured at the mo but would've liked to seen him on the bench given the current circumstances. The new Rooney ?!!

If you good enough, your old enough.

Why not?

I presume MJ would just play a 4-5-1 if needed instead.

Zokora banned for 3, jenas out til the new year, good news for Huddlestone and an opportunity i hope he grabs with both hands. He's certainly an exciting prospect and one i hope to watch for many years eventually plying his trade for England.

Slot Malbranque in the middle and put (who cares) on the left. Steed always cuts in anyway and is much more effective through the middle.

Busy period coming up and with the injuries/bans one that will also see a much more settled side playing.

Hope for Defoes sake he starts banging them in, because all eyes will be on him come the January sales.

ignore southend at your peril - they beat manure dont forget. every round springs a surprise. we shouldn't lose, but lets hope we don't.

sorry, but jol, as much as a great bloke he is, is tacticaly naive and too sodding nice. lose your temper man, stand on the touchline and bollok the players - its called passion. i'd love him to succeed, but he needs to learn as much as the players. any chance of a positive team away from home next time out? no away goal all season from open play by the 1st week in december? why change a winning team? why 'rotate' players? great football huh?

of the millions we have spent, we should be top 3 or 4 without a doubt. 10th is a disgrace. beating mk dons and port vale to reach the league cup Q/F, is hardly an achievement.

i love my spurs and am desparate for us to do well, but unless things change, and I'm not saying jol out, mid-table mediocrity here we come.

take the rose coloured glasses off and smell the coffee.
