Spurs beat Chelsea

It's so easy, It's so easy, It's so easy at the Lane!
It's so easy, It's so easy, It's so easy at the Lane!
It's so easy, It's so easy, It's so easy at the Lane!
It's so easy, It's so easy, It's so easy at the Lane!
It's so easy, It's so easy, It's so easy at the Lane!

Well Chelsea, stick that where the sun don't shine. Spurs were simply brilliant today and fully deserved our win and the chavs just showed why they are one of the most detested teams in the country with people diving left right and centre conning the ref. Also, when decision did go their way they would surround the ref trying to get him to book players. Disgraceful attitude.

The first 20 minutes mind Chelsea did play well but Makellele will never score a goal like that again! They always seem to get a bit lucky. They then turned the screw and we looked in trouble but we then did something we don't do very often and score from a set piece. Hilarious in goal didn't do too well as Dawson flicked the ball into the net. 1-1 and then Spurs really started to get into the game. We attacked well and started to get the ball into wide areas and Keane should have scored when Lennon put a great ball across.

In the second half Keane had dropped over on to the left wing to make it a five man midfield and he was brilliant. His work rate was supurb and he was clearly man of the match after he bamboozled Boulahrouz to put in a cross for Lennon's goal. The ball was deflected but Lennon was brilliant taking the ball and switching it to his left and fooling Cashley Cole in the process. The finish was excellent as well. Chelsea then became increasingly despearte with some dodgy challenges which earned more yellow cards. Terry was then dismissed for a second booking - it looks like he said something to King and the reaction of the players suggest it could have been a racisit comment. Terry has past form in this area and nothing would surpise me but innocnet until proven guilty, right?

Chelsea still had time to hit the post but we had further chances and thorughly deserved our win.

Also, Wenger was at it again trying to have a fight with Pardew this week. He then refused to shake his hand. Maybe he didn't see it.

Ha ha, COYS!

As I'm a foriegn spurs fan for twenty odd years, I understand the hatred of Chelsea.

Anyway, having putting away the champions in some style, we could hope that this is one game which proved we have come of age.

We are truly a force to be reckon with after years of frustration.

Also in Lennon, we might just have found the talisman that would put us as one of the super 5 premiership club.He was awesome. We could put him in the bracket of C. Ronaldo and Rooney. We could not afford to lose him as we did with Carrick.I hope the board can see that.

Big Jol must be a genius or a gambler.I keep thinking to myself after Terry got sent off that he should bring in huddlestone to shore up the midfield as we look increasingly overrun depsite bieng a man advantage.

But he persisted with an attacking formation maybe in searching of a 2nd goal or to stretch the Chelseas defence.Full marks to him that his tactics paid dividents.

We need now to go on a run to reach the top 4 positions which is still within our reach.

Something is brewing at WHL and glory glory tottemham hotspurs.

Dear Mr Levy & Mr Jol,

Last night win against Chelsea is the turning point not only for the whole season but also for the future of Tottenham Hotspur Football club.

Please accept my heartist congratulations for 3 years of strengthening and continual development of our great club and to restore it to its rightful position as an elite of English football.

After years of sowing and experimenting, through the growing pains that come with it.There is a sense of belief that this great club is on upward trend and will challenge the top clubs domestically and in europe.

Please continue this great work by adding players of the right quality.I would suggest the likes of W Bridge, Curtis Davies,Dean Ashton, Nigel Reo Cocker, G Johnson & J Cole. You would note that not only are there all English but there are young.

Please also hang on to our best assets such as Lennon, Dawson, Keane, Defoe and find measures to repel the rich vultures that would inevitably circle WHL when we are doing well.

One way is to move us to a mega stadium as soon as possible.Mega stadium would give us the aura of a big club and would also hopefully mitigate the possibility of our top players thinking a move away from WHL is the only way to move forward for them.

The other is to restructure our wage system to accomodate our prize assets and also attract players of the best quality.Players of the quality like King and Lennon would demand a king's ransom.(Pardon the pun).

We know that both of you have our great club's affair in your heart and is as anxious as the fans to see tangible success. We pray that all you endeavors would be successful and provide us with nights as glorious as what we have witness yesterday evening.

Yours Sincerely,

Spurs till I die.

Carrick?? Oh yeah! I remember him!! He was that average midfielder with a nice range of passing who played for us and then got sold for more than berbatov and zakora put together. Looks like he was holding us back, best bit of bizness we have done for years!!

Let's not carried away, as Chelski are still the better team, but any team can be beaten on any given day, and full credit to our lads, who were due to break the hoodoo. Nice to get the rub of the green, with Poll's leniency re: Ghaly's elbow, and Robbo's post coming to mind. But a win's a win.

What's sad is the ungracious way Chelski (and the Arse) conduct themselves when things don't go their way. Mourinho and his yellow carders moaning to and about the ref. C'mon, on the Drogba "goal" most Spurs - including Robbo - had already stopped playing upon hearing the whistle BEFORE the ball was headed in, and Terry clearly deserved his two cards and a sending off after shoving his ol' mate Ledley -- who just happens to be a threat to his ENG spot.
Arse Wanker is even more of a joke -- upset at Pardew simply celebrating his team's late goal. Also moaning about the way other teams choose to stifle his "creative" players. It's called tactics -- adjust if you don't like it. C'mon, grow up. You act like a kid who just had his toys stolen in the sandbox.

Spurs may suffer from inconsistency, but aside from the odd indiscretion (Zokora's dive -- like Chelsea and Arsenal players would NEVER try to cheat to win a penalty) Spurs are a team to be proud of, with many well-adjusted British lads like Keane, Defoe, King, Dawson, Lennon, Huddlestone and Robbo, who try to play nice football and just go about their job with dignity. No moaning, and no headlines on the front page about bar-room bust-ups or wife-beating. Just honest footballers (and an honest manager who has earned their - and our - respect).

Chelski and the Arse can have their wins and their whinges. I'd rather be a Spud any day.

Exactly Waddle ... you didn't see Jol & his players moaning when Pedro Mendes' "goal" vs Manure wasn't given, or when Mido was straight red carded vs Chavski last season! Only class from the big Dutchman.
Really, how do Jose and his pussycats convince themselves that Poll cost them the game, when the winning goal was scored a full 20 mins BEFORE JT was sent off?

Big Jol is one of the most down to earth and amicable managers you can find in the premiership. He don't knock players when they want to leave the club and you hardly ever see him criticise the referee.I even see him smiling to the players after a bad game.A perfect gentlemen.

As for any team can be beaten on a given day, I beg to differ.Chelsea seldom get beaten. You only get to beat any team on any other day if you are in the same level. Chelsea, Liverpool Man U and Arsenal only get beaten amongst themselves, mostly.

The level of performance last Sunday suggested that the victory is more than a fluke.Yes.Chelsea is clearly still better than us. But in Lennon, Dawson, King,Keane, Berbatov, Chimbonda and Zokora, it was clear also that we have the players and the foundation to challenge the big boys. Its more than a back to walls performance, we have match them punch for punch.

Listen mug, any team can be beaten on any given day by any other team. That's why they bother playing the games. Otherwise they'd just look at the clubs on paper then award the points. Ain't nothing a sure thing but death and taxes, or haven't you heard?

Look. I said Keane et all were British not English. Keane is of coarse Irish, from Ireland, which far as I know is still part of the British Isles. Also, mugs I'm a Spurs fan, NOT a Gooner. And if you disagree with my simple assertion that any team can beat any other on any given day, just ask Southend ... they'll tell you.

Yes, I have seen enough football to know that shocks are possible.
But in cup games like last night , you could argue about the motivation of the bigger team.

Chelsea went into last sunday game doing chasing up of Man U, they don't mug about and we beat them fair and square.

Mourihno have no complain about his team performance or ours, no more jibes about parking team buses in front of goal.In the other lost they have against Boro, Mourihno complain about his team atitude but not this time.

Thats progress for you and that's my point.

I understand that getting the rub of the green is important but Sunday win was something esle.Firstly you rarely come from behind to beat the champions, thats character.Nor do you trade punch for punch with the champions unless you have the muscles. We showed that we have the overall potency to do that.

One more point, we have 2 days less rest after european assertions than Chelsea. We have caught the champions on a bad hair day ? very unlikely me think.

It up to the team now to confirm the faith that we have the quality to challenge the top 4. Yes don't get carried away as each match brings its own adventure and unpredictability. But class don't lie just look at the table for past few seasons.

As long as we produce the kind of energy and verve to our performances as we did throughout the season barring some "freak" results,we will do more than fine.

I see Liverpool as the most likely candidate we can topple from the top 4.Apart from Gerrard, we have a squad to match theirs.

i agree 2;22

We came from behind against the team that played in the champions league match in Barcelona, in a premier league game.

If it was a Carling Cup game, do you think there would have been such a cufuffle (?) from jose and the pussycats??

This is a big win. We need a few more like this.

Keep it up Tottenham!

Finally, a win against Cheslea. Things went our way on the day and we finally got a great result against them arseholes.

Enjoy the moment fellow Yids, and hopefully we can build on our recent upturn in performance and luck, and continue to improve our season which is taking longer due to some replacement of key areas of our squad/first 11.

Those of you 6 games ago that were saying Jol out and saying Carrick shouldnt have been sold...hang your heads in shame. Fickle fans like you remind me of....Journalists.
