Spurs vs Everton

Our favourite team comes to WHL tomorrow and I expect a similar result to past seasons - a Spurs win. The task will be made a little harder because Everton have nippy Johnson who could cause our slow centre backs of Dawson and Davenport a bit of trouble.

Good news came out of the club today with the signs being that Jenas and Berbatov are both fit. Jenas was much improved on Tuesday night and I expect another good display from him. I also expect an unchanged line up to the one which beat Sheffield United on Tuesday which will leave Zokora on the bench again. If Zokora does play I hope Davids is dropped which would leave Tainio on the left. Davids was good on Tuesday but moving him back out on to the left would be a mistake.

Martin Jol had two massive weaknesses last season one being Davids playing on the left ,second when it mattered he did not take a striker off to reinforce his defence which he failed and we conceded last minute goals costing us 7-10 points.

Hope he realised now that Davids playing on the left leaves us vunerable because of him keeps coming inside to protect then Carrick now Zokora/Tainio.

How many games we played last season in the first half Davids playing on the left in the first half we were behind in the second half Jol pushed him to the middle and we came back either to win or draw?

If he reinforced his defense or midfield against Sunderland,West Ham,Fulham,Arsenal etc. we would have not needed the last day victory.

We would have been in CL by now.

Painful to admit it, but it's true. And the scum would now be contemplating a UEFA cup tie, saddled with debt, and minus Henry ....
Actually, if only Stalteri had booted that ball into row Z instead of waiting for Adebayor to foul him and set Henry up, we would be in that Champions League now ...

I think most of those conceeded point were down to individual errors more than team formations (Stalteri against Arsenal, Sunderland and Chelsea, Kelly vs. Fulham and a totally mixed up corner vs. West Ham). Agree about Davids though..

:-) - Hopefully you are all wrong and the Blue-boy's get 3 points, BUT . . . even as an ardent Blue I can't see it. Been impressed with the Spurs under Jol and you look like a very solid team. Moyes bought well with AJ, but our midfield need bite, ie Tommy G!!
Think you have too much all round the park for us to get anything more than a point, but I'll have my fingers crossed!
Cheers

We must learn from Aussie Blue...respect one another and fans of other clubs...cheers mate...

BTW....there is no sure win these days. Boro Vs Chelsea...

But like most spurs fans here,we are hopeful that we make steady strides and continue our fine home form.

Cahill and Johnson will be the threat.

Wake up and smell the jellied eels you muppets. Since when have you even been a big club, how many league titles have you won? Arsenal have bummed you throughout history and will continue to do so.

Everton are a much bigger club, and will spank your sorry little arses today. You missed your big chance last year, wallow in self pity and condole yourself with Chas n Dave. Cockney g*bshites...

these are the games we must be winning to consolidate on last season with all respect to everton.
how can we produce a performance like we did on wednesday yet lose to 10 men for an hour? is beyond me.

i truly hope this serves as a wake up call and reminds the team we got to 5th with hard work determination and creativity last season. if you ask me, too many players believe all the hyped up crap in the media.

1st things 1st jol - sort the fucking defence out. roll on ledders return, as dawson is not the same without him. bring back stalteri, for all his faults he is a competitor and so much stronger than lee.

ffs start spending some dough spurs - money in the bank is no good if no points on the table.

left wing, right back, defender - it doesnt matter who we buy, on paper we have a strong team now, they have got to start playing like one and justifying the hype, transfer fees and wages. until we do its mediocre mid table city for us.

chin up lads.
