Spurs confirm Shelf Story

Tottenham Hotspur confimred today the main part of the story yesterday on The Shelf. Puma will produce the new Spurs kit for the next five seasons and pay approximatly £5 million a year for the privilage of doing so.

The rumors had been doing the rounds for a while on the main three Spurs message boards, Glory Glory, COYS and FTL. Spurs did not confirm the team sponsor though.

I do hope that they have a renegotiation deal in case we do manage to cement ourselves in the top four in the next two or three years because we shall be able to make a lot more money out of these sorts of deals and don't want to be tied in.

It is great news, that these rumours that have been out there for a while are now confirmed. The value per year is excellent news which will hopefully swell the transfer coffers this summer. Should we achieve a place in European football this year the money will enable MJ to attract a couple of top quality players, a necessity if we are not to flounder like Everton did last summer. COYS

Top players don't go to clubs coz they've got money, they go to clubs coz they're in the champions league.

Stuff the red stripes!

Take 4th spot!

Go on the Spurs!

Er.. excuse me! This smacks of out and out greed!!! I've a bizarre thought... why not let the board worry about that. It is a great thing that we have THE BIGGEST EVER DEAL in our history. Surely we can now afford to actually be happy and excited that for once things are going very well for us... it makes a change after all :-)

7.36. I agree in most cases, but if you haven't got the money they won't come for peanuts. Priority has to be the left side as that is where we are lacking. I don't think we need a striker as I beleive Barnard is going to be a quality striker. He is kncking them in for fun in the reserves. I have a feeling he may be given a chance on sunday as sunderland are very weak. Any suggestions out there for a lefty.

Barnard won't play on Sunday. Will be on the bench if Mido doesn't make it back in time. He may be banging them in in the reserves, but the reserves are a huge difference from the Premiership. Even Rasiak and Reid play well in the reserves. I'm not knocking Barnard. I am sure he is good. I think it would still benifit him being loaned to a Championship side, although we would lack cover upfront if we get injuries.
The Puma deal is very good. Hopefully some of that cash will be used on players in the summer. I do like Kappa's style of kits though so is ashame we will not have them anymore.

Thank god Kappa have gone, their kits have been crap, it can only get better with puma, the home is awful and the away is even bloody worse roll on puma, i bet Andy Reid can't wait this may make him look 30 stone lighter

It does seem slightly crazy to tie yourself into five years at the moment: your core of young players are only going to increase in strength and skill in the next three years.

Can anyone on this blog confirm the rumour that Johnnie Jackson is a sad lonely bender who ought to be shot twice in the head and then fed to gay pigs?

I await your assistance in this matter.

Yours sincerely,

i thought the sunderland game was a shocker. we have a tough run in, and we MUST win these so called easier games. i so hope we dont live to regret these silly points we are dropping - today, villa, arsescum, fulham etc.
we really didnt deserve a win - we created so few chances. the first half we couldnt put 2 passes together.
guarantee jol starts mido and keane or defoe next match - not both - they dont work !!!
perhaps we need the killer touch from somewhere, not sure where. bout time we hammered someone.
europe here we come, not sure if its uefa or champions league though.

Most of this CRAP has nothing to do with football, sort it out you lot - you know who you are.

As I type this, we should have won at Sunderland, but played fairly poorly so should just be happy with another point gained away from home. Onto the next...
