Mido and Keane bury Citeh.

An overall good team performance saw Spurs extend the lead over the scum to six points and move within one of Liverpool as we beat Manchester City 2-0. Goals from Mido and Robbie Keane did the job.

Michael Brown had come in for Edgar Davids and proved when great team spirit is running through the whole of White Hart Lane at the moment. He has not moaned when out of the team and put in 110% tonight for Spurs and was one of our best players tonight in my opinion. Dawson was also good and while Gardner was a little nervous he did produce a great tackle to deny Cole an almost certain equaliser.

Meanwhile up front Mido and Keane are working extremely well together. Goals from both front men again today with Mido also providing an assist. These two are first choice by miles at the mo but I am a little worried at how much we could miss Mido while he is playing in the African Nations. At least he is available for the Liverpool game in a couple of weeks. When he is gone I think Defoe will have the most to prove and I would play him alongside Robbie for those games. What will make me laugh later though will be the posts on the message boards again saying crap like "Although Robbie is playing really well I think Defoe should start ahead of him all the time". You wait and see, there will be muppets who make this sort of statement in the next 24 hours or so.

I thought it was an outstanding display tonight. We passed the ball around brilliantly at times and everyone battled really well. Even Gardner had a great game. I still think we don't create enough chances in matches though, but I aint complaining the way things are going. We will definitly miss Mido when he is gone. Am hoping we might get rid of Rasiak and replace him with a quality striker.

I AGREE 6 POINTS IN FRONT OF THE SCUM!!!!!
Well said!!! Defoe is quality but he went through a bad patch and Keane deserves his place. He's leading from the front and linking up brilliantly with Mido. At the start of the season all the papers were saying Mido would link up well with Defoe, but I think he has gelled much better with Keano! COYS

its all about confidence although i still think keane and defoe are too similar to work together. theyve never gelled in the past. personally id give lee barnard a chance, bring him on as a sub and give him a taste. hes banging them in for fun in the reserves, last year anyway. i know theres a world of difference, but until you try you never know. rasiak ? dont think so - get a million quid back for him from wolves. is holding trying to live out his spurs dream with lillywhites in gold shirts ? anderton, huddlestone, rasiak ?????

Can someone tell me why Lennon doesnt play more? He was ace tonight. Sometimes I wish they wouldnt leave it so late to bring on Defoe though! He deserves to be put on earlier to try and fight for his place back! Brown was good tonight too. As much stick as he gets I think he is always super dedicated when he does start and you caannot knock him for that! Great result without King, Davids and Tainio! COYS!!!!

i thought tonight was brilliant to watch, i was watching with my bro and dad and couldn't believe how well we played on SKYSPORTS....whens that ever happened. jokes aside though its great to see the team spirit and team effort everyone from Robbo to Robbie played there part in the last 2 games. we dominated the newcastle game as well and its marvelous to see that we have taken the six points. players like jermaine jenas, who had a slow start, are playing with great confidence and for me he has been the unsung heroe of the christmas period....the takels he puts in are fantastic and he always seems to win the 50/50 challenges! come on u spurs....lets finish above em!!!

K lemme tell u why lennon doesn't play :) he's been injured for the past 3-4 weeks, and he's only 19 and out of breath after an unexpected string of 9-10 games where he featured.

He's keeping Routy out of the side tho... now that's what we call competition!

"Can someone tell me why Lennon doesnt play more?"

Because he's 18. The same way Moyes protected Rooney when he was 18.

Lennon will be a star. The more so if he is used sparingly now.

Didn't he say he was homesick and wanted to go back to Leeds though?

The only reason that Routeledge isn't playing is because he is still not 100% fit yet.
