Liverpool Vs. Spurs

Ledley King and Edgar Davids return for Spurs tomorrow in the biggest game of the season so far. Third play fourth and is the type of fixture Spurs HAVE to get something from if we are to maintain our push for fourth spot. We have a difficult last six games so need points now as we are not guaranteed of picking up any later on.

Liverpool play everything through Gerrard and although they have good players around him like Garcia the key to stopping Liverpool is stopping Gerrard. Edgar should enjoy his battle with him tomorrow and I hope he comes out the winner.

If fit I would pick Tainio over Lennon for this one as his work rate at getting back is better than Lennon's. Lennon would be on the bench ready to come on and stretch Liverpool later on if we are needing a goal or defending a point or 3. If Lee does not make it it means another game of Kelly at left back where he was truly awful against Lecister. Lets hope not.

This is the big one, lets hope we perform better than we did last Sunday.

COYS!

2-0 Liverpool we haven't got a chane in hell. Another average season from the dependable tottenham football team COYS....(yeah)we might finish 7th or 8th this time around just outside the euro spot :) that is the tottenham way we always do this, sorry but that is the reality.

glad to see ledley back, hopefully gardner will leave sometime soon, id rather have huddlestone spraying the ball around from the back than gardner getting the run around from an average player who`s best attribute is being a lump. gardner cant read a player or whats going on in a game. please dont be reading this mr curbishly he really is worth 3 million, honest. if the rumour tabloids are correct and spurs are after bridge its a shame they couldnt of brought him in for this game, bridge might be short of match pratice but kelly is never a left back and every point from now is going to be precious, look how the 3 point goal (that never was)cost us at old trafford last season. we could of had european football this year. would of liked spurs to have brought in the players they wanted on day one of the transfer window. if only we could get reliquelm, dont remark about the spelling you know who i mean. just to have the option to change formation we could have him sitting infront of the midfield forget the wings and just dominate the centre with davids, carrick and tanio.

Some tru colors showing in some of these comments...Spurs have more quality throughout the side than Liverpool, but a game like this will come down to one or two errors or moments of individual skill. Whose to make them? No predictions, but certain it will be good game. I will be happy with a point, but maybe, just maybe.....

talk about depressive reading. forget leicester. tomorrow, we have king, mido, davids and lee back - number 1 choice team prob. they will all be up for it, so get off their backs and get behind your team. liverpool defense is suspect - theyve won a few, but hardly top 6 opposition. watch mido muller hyppia and davids nobble gerard.

Sorry moody yids but Gardener has had many many more good games than bad, like it or lump it. Too many of you are the sort of fans whose memories go back about two matches. Bloody glad none of you are managers. Liverpool play well as a unit but can be beaten. Could go either way. Depends on how well they exploit our left side. I wouldn't be shocked if we battled out a win or draw.

Go on the Spurs!

So much of this comes down to whether Bruce is fit. I could see Kelly having another mare if selected.

Someone mentioned earlier that when we signed Stalteri we were under the assumption he could play right or left. Hence, him on the left and our young starlet Phil Ifil at right back. He did fine against the Scousers last season.

Any team featuring Robbo, King and Super Ed should never be written off....although this is a gargantuan task of the highest degree.

whos the comedian who said gardners had many good games, are we talking the same player? did you support telford in a previous life or something? how many times have you seen gardner playing the opposition onside? you must be as blind as a linesman running up the old trafford line.....

The twat acusing us of being fickle fans is a fucking idiot! Fickle fans are glory hunters! If we were glory hunters we wouldn't be Spurs supporters. The fact that we don't think we'll win is being realistc on present form, not being fickle. You're a dickhead. You are the sort of twat that thinks we can win every game and we can't. A draw will be a good result and if you think we have a better team than them then why the fuck haven't we won the Champions League?! That was a poor Liverpool side that won that and to be honest I don't think we look that dangerous up front. Mido has been great but we have hardly been slicing defences open with slick play. I will support Spurs for the rest of my life whether we end up as the best in the world or worst in the conference so don't call me fickle you fucking bellend!!

Re: Spok,

Over the past couple of seasons Gardener has come back from injury on two occasions and won man of the match. A couple of bad games doesn't ruin a career even if it does make you and your ilk go all hysterical. He didn't put a foot wrong against man city, in fact I'd say he played slightly better than Dawson, then one bad game later everyone's calling for his head. Very silly.
Obviously Leders & Daws are first choice but Gardener needs to get match sharp which depends on games which is obviously difficult for him. Dawson was almost as bad against leicester don't forget. He played them on-side for the winning goal whilst the much magligned Gardener & Kelly were playing the trap perfectly.
Other than Lennon the whole team played shite. I just wish some of you would recognise that rather than pick out scapegoats. I bet you my 1981 Spurs shirt that a fair few player keep an eye on weblogs. I would. I'm not sure what some of us are offering could be described as support. Look what happened with Crouch. Now 'that's'
support.

Go on the Spurs! (Whoever's playing)

I think we are in this game today, and we may get a nice surprise. The return of King, Davids, Mido, Lee and maybe Tainio will be massive, as clearly at the moment our back up is not gelled with the other first choices, but feel that our first 11 has moved through the gears over the course of the season. Theres no need to panic after Leicester, no matter how frustrating it was. If Jol gets it right then, we are in with a shout. Fistly we always play to win, and the team seems to relish these big games and there is no doubt that they are fired up for it, with the battle cry that has come out of the club from the manager and several players this week. We have a big match look about us when we do have our best 11 out, and there is a point to prove after last week.

I personally would play 4-5-1 but in an attacking sense, with Lee not scared to get forward, and Lennon pushing on down the right. Play a midfield three of Jenas, Carrick and Davids with Tainio advanced and maybe sitting in front of Davids, not wide left but giving that option, of an attacking threat or help for Davids to allow Lee to push on. Mido on his own, but we could play football with this system and it wouldn't be worth the long ball/flick scenario. Have both Keane and Defoe on the bench to replace Lennon/Tainio if a goal is needed, and Brown there to add bite if we are looking to hold something, perhaps replacing Lennon, and leaving us able to create a wall of 5, covering the back four.
All the players can get forward too, and a 4-5-1 is not neccessarily a defensive formation, if used a certain way.

My team;

Robinson
Stalteri
Lee
Dawson
King
Carrick
Lennon
Davids
Mido
Jenas
Tainio

Subs

Cerny
Gardner
Brown
Keane
Defoe

The ANON at the top of the page (9:16pm).... you dont need to apologise if thats your reality, because anyone who can see what is going on with us and the fact that all these players have still only played no more than a dozen games (probably less) together have a different reality. Call us optimists what you like, but the thing is WE are all enjoying having a team that is looking good again (first 15 or so players especially)whilst people like you are just wasting your time and missing out and would never be happy anyway. Your comments are just negative for the sake of it, and I say we are in with a shout.
