Defeat to Portsmouth

Everytime Spurs have the chance of moving into a good position they seem to blow it. It happens time and time again and it is something that will need to be put right if Spurs are going to push on from mid table nothingness in the next few years.

Spurs looked fairly solid at the back but created very little in my opinion. Santini summed it up well at the end of the match when he said we only performed for the last 10 minutes of the first half and the next 10 minutes after the break. We were unable to create and use the width of the pitch to our advantage even with Davies and Atouba both playing from the start. Atouba is still failing to convince and will make way on Saturday because he is injured. Unfortunatly that is the only reason he will make way as we have no real cover - Johnny Jackson is just not good enough.

Gardner looked poor at left back and is another player who's time at Spurs is running out. Brown looked Championship at best with another huff and puff and do nothing of any use type display. We should of started with Carrick who looked a much better bet in going forward. Defoe did what he could with what little service he had and was unlucky on a couple of occasions. Keane continued to look out of sorts and I think he needs to drop to the bench for Kanoute on Saturday.

Although 17 players came in during the summer Santini knows we still need more new blood. Another left winger is definetly needed as Atouba just isn't upto it. Cover at left back is another weak positon as Tarrico has apprently been told that he can leave. Lastly, unless Keane sorts his confidence and form out pretty quick, a new striker may well need to come in as well.

Spurs will need to improve their attacking play during training this week if we are to gain anything from our home game on Saturday.

Moan, moan, bloody moan.....

let's just remind ourselves that Spurs BECAUSE they've signed 15 new players this season and have changed more or less everything have so far EXCEEDED expectations..

We're not going to win every match, let's comfort ourselves with the fact that we've only lost twice....

As feared, everyone's expectations have got unrealistic and moaning begins....

Gardner played out of position on left, It's Atouba's first season in the Premiership, we have 15 new players... have some patience please!!!

Sorry Spurs ... As much as you want to avoid the truth , you must now realise that Santini is not the answer. No width, no midfield general and no real support for the only player a gooner could see in a red shirt.... Jermaine . On this form it is only a matter of time before he moves to a club who can give him the support he deserves as a genuine prospect. Wallowing in this mediocrity will only damage his future. Brown is John Jensen without the goal threat, Timotee is just awful and Davies ( was he actually on the pitch) should be dropped simply for his lack of effort. Ledley, Robinson and Naybet are good enough to keep you out of trouble this season but lack of a game plan and a chronic lack of goals will make for many dull and tedious afternoons at the Lane this season with only the annual HATE match against the CHAMPIONS to look forward to.
5 goals from 9 games is all the team deserves for the safety first tactics deployed so far. 8 defenders and 2 strikers will achieve nothing and only Carrick and Rickets possess enough skill intelligence and to improve the team.

In the mean time realise that the only football worth watching is at the home of the CHAMPIONS where a superb manager an a magical group of players are the best thing in world football.

Oh and just remember ....You are not a big club any more.

Hate to admit it but the gooner is spot on .
What a crap display . Lets dump the four defenders in midfeild ( thats all they are ) and lets play Rednapp and carrick in the centre. Davies and Atoba are a waste of space and Keane dont look intrested.

dreading bolton on saturday on this display and where were our fans tonight. what an embarrasment they were .

Altogther a shit night

In response to the two Gooners (got anything better to do than post on a Spurs site, you fickle fuck?). Yes I said TWO Gooners - cos the so-called Spurs fan admitting that the first Gooner is right sounds as miserable as our Red Scum counterparts.

This is the second time we've lost this season?? Not bad after last season. Yeah we need more improvement... but how can we compare to Arsenal who got it right with Wenger ages ago??? It's a nothing comparison...

By the way - we ARE a big club - purely based on the money we make and our continuing fanbase DESPITE the fact that we've had countless seasons of mediocrity..

Fuck off to Ashburton Grove if you're not happy with our team compared to last season.. 15 new players takes time to gel.. we have a robust infrastructure in place...

Just wait untiil we halt the Gunner's unbeaten run... that'll be sweet.

yeah we were crap apart from those 2x 10 minute spells either side of half time. brown and gardner were awful, we missed edman at the back - with him it would probably have been 0-0 and we still have very little attacking play although it is showing signs of improvement - davies, mendes and keano's interplay looked occasionally promising.
'arry done us with his tactical change just when we were getting on top in the match. full credit to him and we were beaten by the better side - we've still got an awful long way to go.
gutted but it was only 1 game.

Scum fans aren't welcomed and anymore crap from you lot will be deleted immediatly.

I was moaning in my post as I was disappointed at the result but I agree we are still doing much better than last season and have shown a great improvement.
